APRIL 2003

YaY!!!! We're going to Newcastle on Saturday to see WARD "C". I'm very much
looking forward to this. There are photos on
their website of the 'semin-aahhh'
we attended at the beginning of March. There are also a lot of references to ME in
the news section because I play their music on my show...and I'm their FAVOURITE Space Beagle.

We check out the fountain to see if it's still foaming. There's only small amounts of
suds in the water now - a mere hint of the spectacular display of last night.
How about this rain??? Moved between Command and Observation Posts 1, 2 and
3 most of day, just watching the world get wet. Was a bit worried that Roxy would die
of fright during the thunderstorm since Guinea Pigs are noted for not liking
loud noises. Was less worried when I remembered that he's very used to hearing
Mistress Hellen sneezing violently around him.
Listened to CDs and planned more of the next show.
Saturday 26 April 2003
While driving up Silverwater road we spot a foaming fountain!!! The pile of foam was
the biggest I've ever seen - must be at least 3 metres high. Wonder what people use to
make such a HUGE foam ball. It looked like a giant scoop of icecream! I suggested
we stop and play in it - but again, the chauffeur declared that it wasn't going to happen.
Friday 25 April 2003 ** ANZAC Day **
Spend time with zeRellies during the day.
Michael visits, bringing Courtney and her friend Keela. Roxy is released into the
hands of the children!!! Regular readers of Beagle Diary may recall that Roxy used
to live with Michael and Courtney.

Quiet day pootling around. Having problems wrapping my head around the new Paint Shop
Pro that's on the new PC.
Sunday 20 April 2003 ** BEST Sunday - Easter Sunday! **
Easter Nose Nuzzles to Everyone!!
Visitors!!!!! Michael visits and so does Matthew with his two sons. No bun
fest this year - it had become a bit of a tradition to have people gather at Easter, but we
decided to not do it this year.
Friday 18 April 2003 ** Good Friday - Easter Friday! **
We spent time with Missus Elizabeth and Mister Darron today.
Later: Sat on Command and Observation Post 2 and watched the rain.
Thursday 17 April 2003
Great to see the local creek flowing again. Went for a dip and then chased Mistress
Hellen around, threatening to shake myself dry.

Now that the alien invader (disguised as a new PC) has been officially put in place, it's time
to try out our updated programs. Our CD cataloging software
(Catraxx - if anyone is interested!
- great program!!!), now where was I...oh yes, we've updated to the new version in honour
of the new PC arriving - and have discovered our Burt Bacharach problem is greater than we
realised. (for those of you who do not remember or never knew about this - see Thursday
3 October 2002 - when we discovered that we'd accidentally changed all albums with
'various' as the artist to Burt!
Well, this new Catraxx has a preview screen which reveals that although we managed to correct
the ALBUMS, every track on every compilation album that had 'various' as the artist...is now..
well.....according to OUR database at least, Burt has been a busy and multi talented
man, that's for sure.
Guess we'll have to draw straws to see who gets to correct all these entries - with the
proper artist and not just 'various'. Ah the joys of information management!
Saturday 12 April 2003
Went to the Cat & Fiddle to see
Parker. Was GREAT, totally
enjoyed myself. Not only do the band put lots of energy into performing, they (and
their beloved) are very friendly too.
Pawl EJ was there as well, which helped the night along.
Ooops, Mistress Hellen just came in and said "are you updating Beagle Diary on the old PC
after I've moved all the data to the new one?" Ah.....well, yes, seems like it.
Wednesday 9 April 2003
Just when I thought our 'Middle of the Night' gardener had gone for good - we spotted him
on the way home from the station this morning! There he was, sweeping up after trimming
the edges of the nature strip. I wanted to stop and say hello, but was overruled by
the chauffeur.

The new PC is behaving like, and therefore being treated like, an unwelcome alien
invader. Most common thing heard uttered in the lounge room at present is "out out
you demons of Windows XP Professional". A close second is "stop, no, I do not want to
do that you demon possessed software". (I'm still using Old Faithful here, because oh,
um, Mistress H just leaned over and said "NO MORE INFO ABOUT the new PC's problems......".)
I have my own login for the new PC - when it's finally tamed and loaded with our data.
Pointed out that I didn't look anything like the doggie in the icon for my login. Was
promptly advised that it was on the agenda to arrange a more fitting picture - some time in
2005 when the PC was housetrained.
Sunday 6 April 2003
I was happily sorting out the CDs that arrived at 2RRR this week when Mistress Hellen
came in from the garden and announced that Roxy had made a dash for freedom during 'quality
time' with her. Was tempted to point out it couldn't have been that good a quality if
he ran away, but decided against it.
Supporting my claim that Roxy is a great waste of time, she then spent 1/2 hour coaxing
him out of the mozzie and spider web laden undergrowth with carrot bits.
(Carrots of course being like Chocolate for Guinea Pigs.) Unfortunately I couldn't
help - since he's terrified of me - but I thought it would be good herding practice to get
in there and flush him out with some Beagle Barking.
