JUNE 2003
Monday 30 June 2003 * * Financial New Year's Eve * *
MORE Great Excitement! I was doing my regular checking of WARD "C"'s news section
and there it is - a picture of ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sent it to Doctor Apollo and Matron
X the other night when we were chatting online.
Sunday 29 June 2003
Great Excitement! On the strength of a spur of the moment thought, we visited Michael
and Courtney today and went to Katoomba. The humans went off and did touristy things
while I listened to music and snoozed in the car. We then had a great lunch, did all
sorts of other fun things then headed home. Was very cold up there and I was glad that
I didn't have to get out of the car very much.
Listened to some of the new CDs that I'm cataloging for RRR and also possibly using in my
next show. Everyone liked one particular song, so we listened to all 5 mixes of it -
sure was going around in my head by the end of the day!!!
After our big adventure we settled to watched Men in Black II on video - we'd never seen it
and I was very impressed by the talking dog! Just like me - only I'm better looking.
Saturday 28 June 2003
The CAT (name and any sort of identity unknown) is still taking liberties in the
backyard. It must come around at night when I'm cozy and snuggled up in side. I
noticed Mistress Hellen's car is decorated with pitty-pat-kitty-prints - not a good look
for someone with a BEAGLE in the household!
Spent some time with MisterJohn from next door while Mistress H at work - he suggested a walk
and even though I'd done my Dogaerobics for the day and had a walk - I thought it was a
splendid idea!!! (I didn't SAY so - I just did the 'very agreeable and excited tail
wagging' Doggie thing)
Wednesday 25 June 2003 (back to top)
Whoah!!! HEAPS of CDs for me to catalog this week. 48 new ones arrived at 2RRR
and so next week's show will be difficult to plan with all that great music to choose from.
Spent most of the day with these new CDs. Listening, noting what seems a potential
for my next show. I get to listen to such great music because of my cataloging
activities and also because my show uses the latest arrivals at 2RRR. (I should add that
I also hear some real duds too!!!)
Sunday 22 June 2003
Spent a very lovely evening yesterday chatting online with Doctor Apollo and Matron X from
WARD "C". Doctor Apollo sent me their new song!!! I'm not allowed to play it on
air yet - soon though!
Also last night, with all this chatting and sitting in front of the computer, I managed to
finally update my playlists for the last two weeks - I really did get behind in my website
tasks!
This morning Michael and Missus Elizabeth visited. Social morning, that's for sure.
Saturday 21 June 2003 (back to top)
Was despatched into the garden this morning to be on Guinea Pig Guard Duty while Mistress H
buzzed off to visit a health carer about her bunged up ribs (yes those ribs that are bunged
up because of violent and repeated sneezing from her Guinea Pig allergy). To answer
the question - "why guard Roxy today and not other days?" - he'd taken off while parked
(supposedly securely and with the assurance he is not inclined to leap from heights) on a
garden chair and there wasn't time to chase him around the garden to capture him.
I did suggest that in light of the health crisis happening because of this allergy, it may
be prudent to let Big Nose continue the rest of his life in the undergrowth, since that seems
to be his preferred environment. Suggestion met with stern look.......
Spent a few hours watching him - it was like watching someone let loose in a food
bowl - his little mouth was never still - he chewed, tasted, sniffed, all the time squeaking
and making happy noises. I only had to do the warning growl once when he looked like
straying too far away from where he'd started.
The recapture process was another work of art - and he's so subdued now - probably eaten way
too much (silly piggie).
Friday 20 June 2003
YaY!!! Mistress Hellen is now on holiday from TAFE and we'll get round to doing fun
stuff with the website again. I've unfortunately let the play list updating get out of
control - should be back on track again soon.
Wednesday 18 June 2003
Finally accepted the fact that another of my long standby tapes has vanished forever.
I've been keeping an eye out for it at 2RRR and asking around. Eight hours of taped show
represents an awful lot of hours in planning. All gone. That's the second standby
tape of mine that has vanished - the other one was the Blues one done with my Buddy Mary Ellen.
Maybe one day the mystery will be exposed and we'll find out just what happened to
them. Meantime, it's very depressing to think that these works of ART may just have
been lifted and perhaps used for someone else to tape over. (big sigh)
Monday 16 June 2003 (back to top)
I was playing today with The Sanatorian Disco Space Ball (a present from WARD "C") when it
rolled under the sideboard - and stopped just out of paw range. Let me explain - the
sideboard goes right to the floor, except for a small decorative gap about 20cm wide and
just over one Sanatorian Disco Space Ball high.
I tried all sorts of things to entice it back out - but only managed to push it further
away. Ooooo! When Mistress Hellen returned she tried too, and succeeded in
boofing me in the face twice with the hairy end of the broom she was using (unsuccessfully)
as a Disco Space Ball retriever.
Suddenly - Bright Idea happened!!!
Employed the vacuum cleaner as a Space Ball Retriever! Covered the sucky end with a sock
so we wouldn't have to spend the rest of the evening trying to extract Sanatorian Disco
Space Ball from vacuum cleaner tubing. There's now a piece of cardboard blocking this
escape route!
Sunday 15 June 2003
WARD "C" had another Semen-ahh
last night but we didn't go. I wish Newcastle was closer and we'd be able to hang out
with them lots!
Saturday 14 June 2003
Been wearing the Silly Hat all day - for being silly. Uploaded the wrong version of the
playlist for last week and didn't realise until today. Haven't managed to even put
this week's together yet. Oh Dear, the trials of being a Busy Beagle.
Mistress Hellen is still suffering from her cracked rib - done while sneezing during another
Roxy Allergy session. She's also still showing off nibbled sole of her Ug Boot - where
Roxy decided to taste it when it was lying in his way the other week. In response to
that I declared that 1. it served her right for wearing Ug Boots (to which she responded
that she thought Fashion Police were boring) and 2. she should be thankful he didn't
investigate the INSIDE of the boot and do the usual Guinea Pig Pee and Poo routine in it.
Thursday 12 June 2003 (back to top)
Practiced howling at the moon in preparation for tomorrow - it being Friday 13 - until
Mistress Hellen threatened to tape my mouth shut.
Wednesday 11 June 2003
Hmm, still no sign of my 'Sensitive New Age Cowboys' album that I bought over the net last
week. Hope it turns up at RRR by next week.
Saturday 7 June 2003
Visiting Michael and Courtney - mostly so the two adult humans can work on rebuilding
Michael's PC. Spent most of the day playing with Courtney, her friend and Cario (the
cat - in case you're new to this diary).
Thursday 5 June 2003
Great Excitement because our CD from
Owen arrived - called 'Hanging out at Harv's
Joint'. It was on the front doorstep this morning - the great advantage of shopping
online - no-one knows you're a Beagle.
Spent the day bopping along to Owen's great Blues Piano!
Tuesday 3 June 2003 (back to top)
Jumped up on to the NEW Command and Observation Post 1 and slid right across it an off the
other side. Not very dignified - AND it frightened the daylights out of Roxy who was
in the next room. Hmm, it seems that all the things that used to anchor the covering
cloth have been removed. Since the cloth had ended up on the floor with me - it was
no longer a problem. Mistress Hellen fixed it all up when she came home.
Monday 2 June 2003
There has been a CAT in the back yard - how cheeky is that!!!! This has been happening
quite regularly recently - I shall have to be more alert in my observation activities.
Sunday 1 June 2003
OH NO!!!! Command and Observation Posts 1, 2 AND 3 have been disassembled during yesterday's
furniture moving frenzy. I just didn't notice when it was happening as I was too
involved just getting in the way.
Actually, the THING that was Post 2 has ended up where Post 1 was.......but I shall have to
request that the other Posts are somehow re-instated.
