and comfirms a report in the Australian Coin Review of July 1974
The Perth Mint produced 2 cent coins in 1966, 1967 & 1968 and then from 1973 to 1983. In 1966 Melbourne and Canberra mints were also involved in producing 2 cent coins, each having a distinctive but subtle mark to denote the mint. Perth has what is known as the "blunt claw" and was the only mint to produce 2cent coins in 1967 & '68 also with the "blunt claw". More about the Perth minted 2cent coins.
The 1973 Perth 2cent has two die varieties, the blunt claw and the short claw. With the re-discovery of the 1974 blunt claw, two die varieties do exist for this date.
