Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

Method

  1. Heat milk to lukewarm.
  2. Add sugar and yeast and stand in a warm place until bubbles form on the surface (~10 minutes)
  3. Combine flour and salt and rub in butter.
  4. Add yeast mixture to the flour mixture.
  5. Knead dough on a floured board into a ball.
  6. Place in an oiled bowl, cover and set aside until the dough has doubled in size (~30 minutes)
  7. Reknead dough and cut into rounds.
  8. Deep fry until golden brown. While warm roll in sugar and cinnamon or fill with berry jam and roll in sugar.
