Hot Cross Buns

Method

  1. Sift dry ingredients (not fruit) into one bowl. Combine wet ingredients into another.
  2. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and and add all the wet ingredients.
  3. Combine with hands adding the dried fruit.
  4. Turn dough onto floured board and knead for 5-10 minutes until elastic. Leave in a warm place.
  5. After dough has risen for about an hour or until doubled in size, roll dough into equal twelve to fourteen equal portions.
  6. Place on a greased tray, lightly cover and leave in a warm area for about twenty minutes or until doubled in size.
  7. Bake in a preheated hot oven for ~15 mins, until golden brown.
