Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

Method

  1. Put the boiling water, chocolate, cocoa and bicarb soda into a small bowl, mix and leave to cool slightly.
  2. Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla essence until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolks and beat well.
  4. Gradually stir in the slightly cooled chocolate and cocoa mixture.
  5. Sift two flours and bicarb soda into mixture alternatively with sour cream until all added.
  6. Whisk the egg whites until until white and stiff and then fold through the batter evenly.
  7. Bake in a moderate oven for ~50-60 minutes.
