Sunflowers in the Desert, by Sarah Huxlow

Sunflowers in the Desert

It is a true story based on the lives of John and Elizabeth Macarthur, the first educated couple to choose to live in Australia. Having survived storms at sea, the loss of a new born baby and suffering from illness, the penniless couple set foot in the new colony. Their lives have many tragedies and successes leading to them eventually being one of the richest and most powerful land owners and founding families at that time.
