| Jim's MySpace Site | Jim can be contacted for bookings or just a chat on 0422428352 or via e-mail on jimmcallister@optusnet.com.au Jim also handles the bookings for TALIZMAN Log in to MySpace and hear six complete audio tracks Jim has recorded. |
| The official Gary Moore Website | Gary Moore has had an incalculable influence on Jim's full-on, take no prisoners guitar style. Gary's fiery playing and intelligent re-working of Classic Blues numbers has inspired Jim to forge ahead with his own vision of keeping Blues-Rock music vibrant and relavent. Jim plays over an hour's worth of Gary's tunes. |
| TALIZMAN | TALIZMAN formed in mid 2005 and have since gone on to gig regularly around South-East Queensland and record a demo covers album. Log in to MySpace to listen to four tracks from that album. Jim handles the bookings for TALIZMAN as well as his solo work. |
| The Musicians Pro Shop | The Musician's Pro Shop is Brisbane's official dealer in Gibson and Epiphone guitars and Jim has had many good dealings with them in the last few years as he has been trading up to better guitars in his quest for the ultimate sound. A visit there is almost guaranteed to result in booking a room in the Poor House! The Pro Shop has also come on board as a sponsor of the Blues alliance |
| Epiphone Guitars | The Epiphone Guitar company has come a long way from simply being the poor relation to Gibson. Their products, while affordable, compare more than favourably with any mass produced guitars in the world. Jim has set up all his guitars to professional standards and they all play extremely well from his least expensive Epiphone to his exceptionally fine Gibson ES335. |
| Marshall Amplifiers | Marshall is the greatest name in guitar amplification. Jim has ten at home ranging from small practice combos to full valve stage amps as well as a couple of JMP-1 pre-amps. 'Wind the gain right up, set the bass to two thirds, mid all the way and treble to one third and stand back! That's my sound right there.' says Jim. The thick stumpy fingers and extra strong hands might have something to do with it too. |
| Alvin Lee | Hailed as the fastest Blues/Rock guitarist in the world during the late 1960s, Alvin Lee has also been a major influence on Jim's development as a guitarist. Alvin's performance at Woodstock with his band Ten Years After stole the show and Jim has been a huge fan ever since. He has most of Alvin's Cds but admits they are hard to come by in Australia. Of all his influences Jim's playing style most closely resembles Alvin's. |
| Z.Z.Top | That Little Old Band From Texas has had a profound influence on Jim's guitar playing style. The heavily overdriven Marshall-fuelled sound of Billy Gibbons guitar is echoed strongly in Jim's own sound. He plays almost all of Z.Z.Top's hits. |
| Leslie West | Taking over where Cream left off as the premier Blues/Rock power trio, Mountain recorded an impressive legacy of awesome albums until the tragic death of Felix Pappilardi, their bass player. Leslie West, Mountain's guitarist has been and still is one of the most respected Blues/Rock guitarists in the world. Leslie's influence is second only to Alvin Lee's in shaping Jim's style of guitar playing. |
| Ted Nugent | The wild man of Rock'n'Roll has long been a hero to Jim who, like Ted, doesn't drink, smoke, or use narcotics. Musically Jim admires Ted's full-on guitar playing and the thick yet sweet tone he achieves from his Gibson Byrdland guitars. It was after reading about Ted's collection of more than twenty Gibsons that Jim figured it was OK to own more than one! |
| Gibson Guitars | Gibson are the world's foremost manufacturers of top quality guitars with a history of market leadership going back 100 years. Gibson's designs are the ultimate in form, function, and class, and are favored by many of the world's all-time greatest guitarists. |
| Jim's Videos | This is a link to Jim's Youtube site. These videos were taken at a Biker poker run at Esk on June 11th. Despite the near freezing temperatures and howling winds TALIZMAN rocked hard into the small hours of the following morning to an enthusiastic crowd. |
