Inspired by altarpieces of the 17th Century Flemish painters, this work employs painted religious props and icons together with found objects, all housed in a foldaway Gothic-styled shrine. The main aim of the exercise was to confuse the viewer slightly into deciphering what was actually real and what was painted. It was rewarding to see viewers attempt to touch an object, only to find it was not a solid thing, but a painted version of it in the assembly.
