This painting was inspired from our very first camping trip in the Kangaroo Valley. Although it looks an ideal place, it was in fact, crawling with leeches, and the fallen timber was so soaked from rain and dampness, it was almost impossible to keep a fire alight. This was very far from being an enjoyable evening, but it paved the way for us to become keen and efficient campers who learned quickly about choosing the ideal place to pitch a tent.
