The paintings were all completed in the early 1990's, a couple obviously influenced by the work of Magritte. The assembled scavenged objects were collected from dilapidated old holiday shacks at Maianbar before they were totally demolished. The seaside shacks, built from leftover timbers resembled a ramshackle row of neglected doll's houses. Sadly abandoned, they had become inhabited by homeless people and drunks, or young fellows looking for a quiet place to pull a few cones and get down with their girlfriends. The found objects were discarded remnants of the families that would spend their summers on the beach, just around the point from Bundeena, a short drive from the Sydney City Centre through the Royal National Park, or a twenty-minute delightfully old-fashioned ferry ride from Cronulla.
