Henri Roussea was a real inspiration to me back then. He was untrained as an artist and this naivety really appealed to me. It's rather difficult to turn back the clock now and ever attempt to pretend you could do it again. I guess studying art takes that away from you, temporarily at least. Someday, maybe I'll try. His use of raw colour and his rugged renderings of botanical specimens is a joy to the eye and a delight to the imagination.
