On to Penang, Malaysia!

The next morning I caught the "bus" to Penang Malaysia. I should say three buses. Being a backpacker, I sometimes think that we aren't treated much better then cattle! I caught a bus to Krabi, then I was herded on to another for the Thai border town of HatYai. At HatYai I was herded on to the final bus which took me the rest of the way to Penang.
The restaurant/reception of the Hang Chow Hotel where I stayed in Georgetown, Penang.
In Penang, I stayed at a Chinese hotel called the "Hang Chow Hotel" on Leboh Chulia Street in Georgetown. It was my third stay at this hotel and I had a clean basic room for RM22 or about AUD$9 a night. The shower and bathroom was down the hall. The next day, I had a haircut and a shave at an Indian Barber, booked my train tickets to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and changed my flight home. I had been to Penang 5-6 times before, so I decided to stay for only two nights. That night I went to Coco's, a pub/bar on Leboh Chulia Street. I had some satay and Anchor beer and listened to a live band. I left the next morning for Kuala Lumpur by train.
Leboh Chulia Street, Georgetown Penang is where a lot of the backpackers stay in Penang.
Georgetown -Penang, Malaysia.
Butterworth Railway Station - Malaysia.
I woke up about 6:30am, showered and dressed. The front door of my hotel was locked, so I had to wake the manager to let me out. I caught a trishaw to the Butterworth Ferry Terminal and then a ferry to Butterworth and the railway station. The train left on time and I arrived in Kuala Lumpur about 2:30pm.
