Filton Laundry. To the left of the laundry is Laundry House, the family home of the laundry manager. My father grew up in this house.

The grandparents I never met, Alice and Herbert Shield.

I visited Filton in 1999. At that time Laundry House was occupied by Lloyds Bank. It has since been demolished. Behind it is a shopping centre known as the Shield Retail Complex, on the site of the old laundry.
