'Why I am writing to you John is to tell you that I met your adorable Mum. We had lunch together. She is an amazing lady full of fun and loved to tease. I enjoyed being with her.

'I will never forget your Mum's eyes - so bright. She loved showing me her albums from her trips overseas. We laughed about Switzerland as they have a mountain called Mt Titless. She and I burst into laughter

'She certainly is a grand old lady to cherish and adore.'

Sharnene Brookes (wife of Hazel's grandson, and my nephew, Jonathan), who met Hazel for the first time late 2003.
