(8/8/11) Coffs Harbour 200km;lib 7am; Clear all way; light NW wind at times; Good returns for a change;about 25 birds out at 11-15am. 20 out that night; they were mixed up with other birds as I pulled 1's to 5's out of mobs of 30 to 60 going passed from about 10-20 onwards; I have a few strays to send back at the weekend Sydney birds+ South Coast. some birds missing probably gone thru. Got 7 more today and another 2 will get a ride home. The big one is on SOON. First mob flying about 1180m/m

(27/7/11) Sprint 1 ; 108Km; lib 12-15 pm ; W wind 10-15 Km/hr; scattered cloud; birds out of sight in 3 mins. I expected a good run with NCF up at 9 am this morning near by, I was wrong again. we got hit hard and birds still coming up to dark; hope there is a lot more in the morning.
Well done George to pick up $500 1st prize. 2nd $250; 3rd $100; 4th $75; 5th $50; 6th $25. Day 2 , 65 more birds home.

(23/8/10) Sprint 2 results;( TOP 25 ONLY )100 km ;lib 11- 30 ;113 birds(updated) entered for the money ; 1st = $530; 2nd = $320; 3rd = $160; 4th = $80 ;5th = $40.Day two birds now shown (16) Showers all day ,visibility very poor; not a good day for tired birds. Rain started at midnight
A very nice day for the pigeons, light NW wind behind them, warm 26 degrees. I thought they would all hit in one mob, how wrong was I. The falcons belted them, one hung around the loft for a good while having a go at the first bird and then all the rest of the birds for a half hour or more. You would have thought we were having the main race today the way they came. The birds well sorted. TOP 25 only

(16/8/10)Results of Sprint 1;(TOP 25 ONLY )The day began well ,clear and a light NW wind. Lib to be 12 noon. At 11 am the wind changed to W/SW gusting to 20 knots and more at times, by 12-30 it was really gusty and some storm clouds had moved in; at 1- 30 the wind was dominately S/SW and a storm front moved through just as the birds started to arrive ; just after the first batch landed we had a good down pour. It continued to blow and storm up to about 3- 30 ,around 4- 30 it had eased back to a reasonable evening. In a nut shell the birds had shit weather for the time they had to fly. Day two(42) birds listed. Prize cards for the first 15 birds. Falcons have hit some of the day two birds.(spare and old birds)

(13/8/10) Run number 9. I had the chance to give the birds a run to see how they are going with the pox / time out and make sure they are OK before Sunday's sprint 1.
31 km; lib 13- 45. overcast and a good 15/20 knot head wind to really test them. 4 birds left at home, one hurt + 3 still a little poxy. 1 bird out tonight

(18/7/10) Run number 8, First from new unit; clear , light W wind; 50km lib 12-35; left the point and almost out of sight in two minutes when falcon hit??? birds scattered and diving. Birds arrived at loft in small groups of 30 to 50 from all direction, the first birds almost at the same time. A few groups later and some odd ones later still, two on dark. 3 out.

(16/7/10) Run number 7; clear but strong head wind 30-40 knots;was going to 50km but wind to strong almost brought them home; 25km lib 11-15; falcon hit just after lib, some birds blown back the wrong way and then chased main group,a few doing it tough. 3 out on day all home today , two ripped ,one out of race now , third ok. I had trouble to hold the car on the road on the way home, and after a few kms on the way back another falcon hit the stragglers.

(14/7/10) Run number 6; overcast with NE/NW wind .lib 2-30pm at 25 km again. very fast return. I can always be home before or with them from this spot???? well untill today. Got home and as we came up the drive a bird dropped in, " that's a good bird, the rest should be soon" said the wife. Stopped the car and walked down to see what bird was so far infront to find it was the last, the rest were on the perch.

(8/7/10) Run number 5; Very lucky to get a toss in, been raining all week and today; There was a break just before lunch time to give me the 2.5 hrs needed to basket up.Got birds together with one very light shower but all good to go, went out the road to have a heavy shower stop me at 25km. waited 30 mins for it to stop and put the birds up 3-20pm.SE/S wind;Some good showers on the way home with very heavy fall at the loft when I got back. Stopped raining and a few birds appeared from the west followed by a ribbon of birds throwing themselves at the loft. I see that there are two birds out or didn't record with the large number of bird going over the plate, will check in the morning.

(4/7/10) Run number 4; cloudy S/SW wind ; Lib 12-30pm ; 30km; down the beach & out of sight in three minutes. Home well before me as I went out to the coast this time to try to miss the falcons. Only two late birds

(27/6/10) Run number 3; had rain all week and all Saturday. 25km; clear ; light SW wind. Lib 3-10pm; up high and out of sight in two minutes; thought this is good , didn't see birds at all along the way. Drove hard all the way home expecting to see all the birds in loft - nothing. Birds started turning up in small mobs and singles; falcons had hit hard ; 12 home second day.

(20/6/10) Run number two. 25km, clear, warm 23*C, light SW wind .Lib 1:30pm Birds went up high and went for home, a small mob of around 80 tailed off a bit (found it hard to keep up).I sat on 100km and 110km on the way home and only just caught them at home. Most were in no hurry to go in the loft when they got home, playing around in the air. The small mob was about 3mins behind but mixed with the others not in. Placings mean nothing today all home by 2:04 pm and they did have a feed at 8-30 am.

(13/6/2010) Had first run yesterday. 25 km .A bit overcast with SW wind 5-10 knots.Lib 1- 40pm. All left in one mob ; about 500 birds (with spares) Falcons split them along the way, they came in lots of small groups most around 30 to 50 birds. falcons up their bums. A few spares home second day with bark off.

(28/10/09) Karadoc Lofts win the EAST COAST CHAMPION for 2009.My apology to everyone involved as I missed Karadoc Lofts spelt Carrodock Lofts at the QLD 10000 which unfortunatly for G & L Percival drop them back to second place. All cards etc will remain as issued and a special thanks to Karadoc Lofts (Mildura) for being so understanding in this matter ;full point score as follows
The best pigeon in each loft to complete all 3 races at each loft was selected and the place recorded. (Lowest points win)

(26/8/09 )day two and three birds now added to the listed. All days since the weekend have been very hot 30+ degrees days, not good for thirsty tired birds. Have had a couple reported by non pigeon people and these birds should be back at the weekend.

Please could all owners make arrangements with me to have their birds returned to them ( in the next three weeks ) before I go OS , so Arther will have less to look after in my absence.

Special note; both lucky draw pigeons donated for this years race by VIP Lofts home, the best in 11th place

Congratulations to Nigel Jarvis taking out almost all the money today and would have had the calcutta if the birds weren't so fast.
It was overcast with SW wind both here and at the race point this morning, although the forecast was for light tail winds swinging to the west later ,we thought it must have passed through more quickly than expected and the tail winds may not come so I went with the 7am lib. It turned out a very warm day 30+ degrees day almost all the way and NE/NW winds . We missed finishing the calcutta and the raffle of leftover spares, the birds were to quick, we almost made it. The birds were very thirsty in the heat when they got home flying 1320m/m for the winning birds. 27 arrived in the first group and they continued to roll up in good numbers for some time but the heat was clearly affecting the returns as the day went on. Everyone was excited to see the good number of birds make it home, if I were not going OS we would have had another race in a couple of weeks ( SORRY ) $50 pool went to W & J Minett
Some owners got 100% returns ,top effort also some of the "spares" helped a few win some money, lucky people. 221 birds homed

(9/8/09) (top 19 only) Birds up at 8am in light S wind, same all the way, clear sky; cleared in under 3 minutes, much better conditions for the day than expected ;we have 10 race birds still out along with 4 spares. Hope to see some of these tomorrow.

(26/7/09) SPRINT 1 RESULTS( top 19 only) It turned out to be a good day and the birds made it OK with 12 out tonight. Lib 12 noon overcast and light NW wind, they did it in good time 1200+ m/m; didn't even circle the point, out of sight in no time; Falcons hit a little and one pigeon has received a few stitches. You can't be in the money if you don't enter. Bad luck for some, good for others. results below

The Main Race was run under tough conditions with gusty SW / S winds varying in strength along the way 15 to 45 knots. Lib was 7-20 am with the birds out of sight in 2 minutes going for home. Well technology is good when it works and unfortunately the clock did not register any birds except for a stray. We had a malfunction of some kind but it all turned out OK in the end and I think those here accepted the results well. 4 Birds arrived together at about 12-53 pm and were all declared equal winners sharing the first 4 places The pigeons were Tam 05 496 E.S & J syn;
