It all started when I bought the Dover book "Bliss Toys and Dollhouses".
Mr Bliss of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was a 19th century American toy manufacturer who produced modestly-priced dolls' houses. To disguise their simplicity, the houses were decorated with richly-coloured lithographed papers.
I just had to design a couple! Each of these houses is just over 2" high and I drew them in PowerPoint, as it was the only graphics software I had. They look good as dolls' houses for the dolls' house. Students who did my Bliss workshops 1 and 2 keep asking me when I'm going to design some lithographed paper furniture to go inside. Another item on the to-do list.
