Doll's house miniatures - Judy Keena - Australia

Toys

Some of my miniaturist friends once dubbed me "The Queen of Victoriana", but here are a few modern toys along with the traditional ones... just to prove I can!

Hansel and Gretel gingerbread house 2" high. The wheel turns and the children run in or out of the house. The wicked witch is lurking out the back. I designed this as a workshop for AMEA. The children are made from novelty buttons and painted. Twisted red and white computer wire makes the candy cane arch.

One of my friends adores Raggedy Ann, another loves bunnies, and several more are avid miniature bear collectors. They like to boast how they got me into making "cute stuff", but it wasn't hard really. You just have to be a big kid at heart.

Back to Victoriana for this chest full of toys.

A toy theatre 11/2" high- Aladdin is now playing.
I drew, painted and cut out all the pieces. No photocopiers or scanners were used.

A 11/2" peddler doll made of polymer clay with her table of wares, including a tiny doll, ribbons, scissors, gloves, bonnets, fans, china, sheet music, games & toiletries. This was one of my first miniatures, and I made it and all the tiny wares with my friend Julie. We signed and dated it 1979.
