Admission Process So you've made it through your undergraduate degree (or almost) and you've done the GAMSAT. But will your score be good enough? Requirements for interview invitationsInterview invitations are issued based on the following:
This is what was needed in previous years to get an interview (the year denotes year of admission):
* Sydney University has changed criteria from 2005 admission - The overall GAMSAT score is now used as the cutoff rather than a minimum section score. The table lists the min section scores in previous years and cannot be used for comparison for 2005 and onwards. Note that ANU and Melbourne invite to interviews based on combined GAMSAT (50%) and GPA (50%) scores so the GAMSAT score listed above is the lowest at which invitations were issued (but it was possible to have a higher score and not get an interview offer because of lower GPA score). These scores refer to general quota, lower scores may apply for rural and Aboriginal admissions at Uni's which have separate quotas for special admissions. Can anyone fill me in on the other years? General admission requirementsCheck out the general admission requirements of each Uni by following this link You must apply by 30 June through GMAC at ACER. InterviewsIf you're selected - next is the interview in September (usually in the mid-semester break - around the end of September - beginning of October). The Uni's will invite to the interviews about 1.5 times the number of places available. According to the ACER Admission Guide: applicants are ranked by their first preference school based on GAMSAT overall and/or section scores (and GPA in the case of applicants to Melbourne). If you do not reach the cut-offs established by the first preference school you will be passed on to your second preference school where you will be considered for inclusion on the interview list. If you don't qualify for your second preference you are passed on to your third preference. All schools will consider second and third preference applicants for interview. Each school will conduct only one round of interviews and no applicant will be invited to interview by more than one school. Offers
It is possible to be interviewed at one university and receive an offer of admission from another. If unsuccessful in gaining an offer from the university where interviewed - details of the application with interview remarks are passed onto the other universities in the preference list. QuotasThe following number of places will be on offer (may change from year to year):
