ADSL - A BASIC INTRODUCTION

ADSL is a higher speed internet connection compared to that of the fastest dialup connection.

ADSL is supplied superimposed on a traditional telephone line.

ADSL filters are required to effectively remove the hissing noise from voice type telephone connections.

In most cases, ADSL can be simply installed with the filter (usually) supplied with the ADSL modem.  

Incorrect usage can cause problems such as -

• noisy lines

• may prevent monitored alarms from working correctly

• may prevent EFTPOS services from functioning

or when multiple phones are connected.
