Bitmap Editing
I took this picture with a 5 mega pixel digital camera at my office car park. The car was of course standing still and my friend Maycol was holding the steering pretending to be driving.
I then imported the image into Photoshop CS and traced a path around the car only, then copied it to a separate layer. Then I did the same with the car's shadow. Then I selected the original layer and erased the car and the shadow. Now I had 3 layers, the background, the car, and the car's shadow. I then enlarged the car and shadow, tilted the car about 15degrees to make it look like it was wheel standing, blurred the wheels, and adjusted the shadow propotionally. Then I added artificial smoke and sparks, and finally blurred the background.
This complete process will only cost you $50 including a A4 sized photo, and image copy on floppy disk.

The editing was basically the same as the above picture, except instead of simulating smoke and sparks, I tried to replicate motion blur behind Daniel and his bike to make him look like he was travelling very fast.

Both these pictures I shot indoors using a digital camera and flash.
I imported them into Adobe Photoshop CS, and with only one tool called "liquify" I manipulated certain pixels by re-shaping them into any form.
I then re-coloured parts of the image including hair, eyes, and lips.
