Libby Hart’s first collection of poetry, Fresh News from the Arctic (Interactive Press, 2006) received the Anne Elder Award and was shortlisted for the Mary Gilmore Prize. She received an Australia Council for the Arts international skills and arts development studio residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig in Ireland. During this residency (2008) she wrote This Floating World, which has been selected for the Australian Poetry Centre’s Poetic Monologue Series and will be performed in the Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas. This centre is a Victorian government initiative that promotes Melbourne’s UNESCO City of Literature status. She is also the recipient of a DJ O’Hearn Memorial Fellowship at The Australian Centre, University of Melbourne. Her work has been published widely and broadcast on ABC Radio National.
