The Digitrex GK-705 DVD player page

This page lets you have a peek as to what's inside the Digitrex GK-705 DVD player, disable Macrovision, UOP, CGMS, and change the background picture.

This is an overall look at the guts of the machine.

Make sure YOUR player is EXACTLY the same as mine, look at the pictures, have a look inside your player. Make sure all the chips noted above are the same as yours.
If you find your GK-705 is NOT exactly the same as mine, please, help the cause, take some pictures and put them up on the web, or email me first and tell me you're sending me them. DON'T PATCH YOUR DVD PLAYER IF THIS IS THE CASE.  It could turn your DVD player into a fancy paperweight.
As per usual, I will not be responsible for anything that happens to your machine, I can only claim it works for me.

I will not be detailing instructions on how to blow new firmware into the GK-705, I will only outline the 'need to know' differences between this, and 'generic' DVD firmware uploads.
If you've never done this before, you need to either be brave, or stupid. I HIGHLY recommend you have a look at Area 450 ,  this site has lots of helpful information about how to blow new firmware into your DVD player.  MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IS INVOLVED BEFORE PROCEEDING!

Click here to see how to do it.

Thanks to the guys at Area 450, without their assistance, I would not have been able to do it.  Also, many thanks to TonyH who pretty much held my hand the whole way (well, ok, he did it himself).
