HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Continuing a tradition of over-the-top stunts, ABC's ``The Drew Carey Show'' will go live for one partially improvised episode in November. The cast will work from a partially unscripted storyline, and perform the show three times in one night, allowing viewers in the Eastern/Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones to see distinct versions of the same episode. The plot will incorporate improvisational games to ensure a different episode for each time zone. ``It's live, there's gonna be improv, anything can happen,'' said ``Drew'' executive producer Bruce Helford. ``I just hope they don't tap the keg until after the third show.'' ``ER'' staged a live season premiere episode three years ago, performing the show twice in one night. The last network sitcom to regularly produce live episodes was Fox's ``Roc,'' which switched to a live format toward the end of its run. Helford has made a habit of attempting a handful of particularly ambitious episodes each season. Past stunts have included an episode filmed in China, bloopers incorporated into episodes for April Fool's Day, Drew's interaction with Daffy Duck and the show's trademark production numbers.
