Fun, Quality Flute Ensemble Music now available!!

Find out why flute ensembles all around Australia are having such fun playing Craig Allister Young's brilliant arrangements!

Comments.....

"We plan to buy these arrangements and spend the remainder of the semester
on them. We sounded good and we liked that!"

"But the best fun is located in the varied styles of accompanying - no endless "oompah oompah" approach is found here. The harmonies are varied and interesting and textured writing plays an important role. There is a mixture of rhythmic and articulation ideas found throughout and as all the parts (picc, 5 flutes and opt. alto) are equally exciting, the overall effect is fresh and creative."

"...one of my students commented that it "was the best arrangement of
Waltzing Matilda I've heard".

Craig Allister Young rehearses the "Australian Folksong Medley" with the
Queensland Summer Flute Festival Ensemble.

Craig Allister Young is, without doubt, one of Australia's most talented arrangers! He was awarded a Bachelor of Music (Dinstinction) in 1988 and a Graduate Diploma of Music in 1989 from the Queensland Conservatorium, majoring in Cello. He also won numerous awards during his time there. In 1989, he played as a Soloist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in the ABC Youth Concerto String Finals. He toured in 1989 as Principal Cellist with the Queensland Youth Orchestra, performing as Soloist in Bloch's "Schelomo" in San Francisco, Kobe and Shanghai. He is currently a Cellist with the Queensland Orchestra, as well as a composer, arranger, orchestrator and cabaret singer! His works have been performed by the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Orchestra, Queensland Youth Symphony, Queensland Youth Choir, Jones and Co, Queensland Ballet, many flute ensembles Australia wide, Jones and Co, The Ten Tenors, Sirens of Song, X-Collective, and the Voice Company, among many others. In 2000, Craig wrote the music for the opening ceremony of the Olympic soccer preliminaries in Brisbane, which included the song "Calling all nations", sung by David Dixon and Christine Anu.

After many years of hassling Craig to put these fabulous arrangements into print so that all flute players could experience the joy of playing them, finally in 2002 we at "FluteBiz" (Karen the Editor/Marketing Manager and Craig the Arranger Extraordinaire) finally did just that! Already we are about to go into a second print run of the "Australian Folksong Medley"! Here are the details:
