When Jessica and Foo came to live with Louise she already had another cat called Ginger who was a stray kitten that wandered into the schoolyard one day and Louise and her brother thought it their duty to bring it home to live at their house. A couple of years later Louise's sister got a kitten from the RSPCA and called it Samantha, but her cattle dog wanted to eat it! So Samantha came to live with Louise too. With Ginger the senior member of the feline household they all lived happily together. However after Ginger passed away with kidney failure, and Foo died from complications after being hit by a car, that left Jessica and Samantha and they 
developed a great dislike for each other.
