Yarra Valley runs a UUCP fed email system based on the Waffle UUCP BBS linked to the Pegasus Mail Novell Netware network email system by the PegWaf/WafPeg utilities and several in house filtering utilities.

In house developed filters perform the following functions:-

  1. Filter incoming & outgoing email for unacceptable language. This function is also used to block email to and from undesirable sites, block delivery & receipt confirmation requests and block mail to and from particular users.
  2. Limit the size of outgoing messages (currently we pay per kilobyte of mail transferred).
  3. Copy outgoing messages from particular users to an administrator.
  4. Monitor the flow of messages during a connection to our host.
