CELL CHURCH MISSIONS NETWORK
SHORT TERM MISSIONS

Purpose
1. To help finish off the Great Commission by sending teams from Cell Group Churches to do evangelism with Cell Churches (transitioning or new plants) primarily in unreached Asian cities
2. To stimulate a greater vision for taking this world for Jesus within participating Cell Churches. Long term missionaries are raised up as a result of short term trips!
3. To strengthen the networking relationships between Cell Churches worldwide.
Participants
Anyone and everyone belonging to a Cell Group Church anywhere in
the world! We encourage every cell church member, especially leaders,
to go on at least one short term trip at some time.
Your church could also consider encouraging different church members
(maybe in clusters of 2-3 people) to go on mission trips to different
destinations at the same time. This will greatly enrich the breadth
of experience and vision the whole group will bring back with them
after the trip.
Furthermore, why not plan on encouraging different church members to
participate in each of the missions trips throughout the year. The
testimonies they bring back every 3 months will further stimulate a
growing vision in your church for reaching the whole world for
Jesus.
Basic Pattern
1. For Hong Kong participants, there will be two compulsory half day orientation and training sessions in the two weeks prior to each mission trip.
2. Just before each trip, there will be a combined Cell Churches rally to commission the teams going out. Each HK participant's Cell Group members, church leadership and other church members are strongly encouraged to attend these rallies.
3. Overseas participants should arrive in Hong Kong in time for the commissioning rally.

1. Teams of anything up to 40 people will be led by experienced leaders. Each team will be further sub-divided into smaller groups of 5-8 people each.
2. Different teams will go to different destinations during each short term mission.
3. During 1997 each trip will commence with a two day camp in Hong Kong for further orientation, training and team building. Although coming via Hong Kong may mean additional expense for some international participants, this camp is important for two reasons:
a) It will give overseas participants a feel for what is happening within both the vibrant HK Cell Church Network and the wider international cell church missions network. Participants will meet people from other nations and races who are going on missions to different destinations.
b) It will also give opportunity for team building to begin in a neutral Asian environment before each team "hits the ground running" in their final destinations.
4. Each trip will last approximately 2 weeks (including the orientation camp).
5. The primary thrust of each trip will be evangelism, using preaching (via interpreters), drama, dance, music, testimony, children's ministry, interest groups, power encounters, prayer walking, etc. There may also be opportunity to provide training in Cell Church principles to local believers.
6. About a week after each mission trip Hong Kong participants will attend a reunion rally to hear testimonies from other teams, and to debrief. International particpants are encouraged to do the same in their own home localities, getting together with particpants from (and members of) other Cell Churches in their area wherever possible. Participants from earlier mission trips are encouraged to attend later reunions to keep abreast of what God is doing in the places being reached.
7. During their 5 month course, trainees in Hong Kong's School of International Studies will go on two mission trips to the cities where they will be serving long term.
Costs
1. Each participant must pay his/her own way, or find their own sponsorship.
2. Costs (ex-Hong Kong) will usually be within the range of HK$4,000 to $7,400 per person, depending on the destination.
