Seriously Rick...... how do you circular breathe?????

 

Firstly circular breathing does not involve breathing in and breathing out at the same time.
This is physically impossibile.

But to play uninterrupted notes on a didgeridoo... Uninterrupted by having to stop blowing to breathe in that is.... you have to keep on blowing while you breathe in through the nose again right?...Somehow the cheeks have to blow the didgeridoo all by themselves while you breathe in.

That is circular breathing

Where do the different airways come from, where do they go to??

Two airways already exists... through your nose...through the mouth

Two air compressors are there...One is your lungs and the other source of compressed air is the cheeks of the mouth.

Fill your cheeks with air, don't hold your breath, just fill your cheeks with air and keep them filled. Increase the pressure with more air if necessary untill they are quite puffed out and with your cheeks full, just breathe normally in through the nose and out through the nose while keeping that air pressure locked in your mouth with the back of your tongue..

That is as simple as it sounds. Puff your cheeks up with air and lock it in there with the back of your tongue, hold it while you go about your daily business, breathing in through the nose and out through the nose, cheeks all puffed up.

That's it now at any time you could use your cheeks to squeese that air out of your mouth couldn't you?

Stop for a second and using only your cheeks, squeese the air out and make a noise, you can make mostly rude sounding noises, the longer the better.

That's the business end of circular breathing taken care of...

Here's the thing.......

Don't stop breathing normally all the while , in through the nose , out through the nose.

Fill your mouth up with air again, breathing, in through the nose, out through the nose, look around for a few seconds, mouth full, breathing normally breathe in , breathe out now; this time when you breathe in , while you are breathing in... keep the tongue locked at the back and use your cheeks to squeeze the air out through your lips making a noise.
Your mouth is a sealed unit full of air blocked at the back by your tongue, your cheeks just wanting at this stage to explode, just squeeze with your cheeks and make a bit of noise through your lips as your cheeks deflate. Even move your tongue forward to keep up the pressure.

The cheeks deflate, a noise is made, the air is gone...maybe you made a note, you've finished breathing in and now you have to breathe out, what a surprise, breathe out and let some of the overflow pump up your mouth again. You'll be surprised how much pressure there is there, lock as much in as you can back in your cheeks with the back of your tongue, continue breathing as if nothing has happened, look around, cheeks puffed up...

 

Breathe in while making the noise with your cheeks and as you breathe out some of the air coming out naturally flows into your cheeks and fills them up again...squeese that air out as you breathe back in again, and you will be literally blowing out at the same time as you are breathing in !!!

It just takes practice- it's your body- you can control it.
