Excerpt from the Book:
- A number of Australian coastal ships were dogged by accidents and controversy throughout their careers. One of the greatest offenders was the steamship Barrabool. Before her hull slipped beneath the waters off Sydney Heads some 76 years after her launch, she had sent two steamers to the bottom, badly damaged two others, rescued two crews from shipwreck, suffered a major breakdown and run aground. Her most notorious mishap occurred the night she collided with the steamer Bonnie Dundee. The sinking prompted some of the most cowardly behaviour ever witnessed on a New South Wales Shipwreck.
