Just a few of the many Websites that we have found useful in our research |

These are just a few of the many websites that we have found useful in researching our family history. In the near future I hope to add many more links, especially those that focus on New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain and our other personal areas of research.
Links to Web Page Resources for the Genealogist

Family Search is a very popular website for genealogists, provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Here you can search for your ancestors online in their vast record collections. You can also use this site to find a Family History Centre near you, where you can access materials from the world’s largest family history library. I believe that most, if not all, serious genealogists will eventually end up spending a large amount of time at one of the Family History Centres.

This link connects you directly to PAF 5.2 Product Page on the FamilySearch Website. From here you can click the link to download a free copy of Personal Ancestral File (PAF). This is the computer software program that we use to store all our family tree information.

The Genuki website is a very large collection of genealogical information pages for England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. This site is a real goldmine of information and a must visit for anyone with connections to Great Britain.

The Rootsweb site contains search engines, databases, family trees, mailing lists, messageboards, websites, and volunteer projects, A very worthwhile site to browse through. You can however, often find yourself directed to their commercial arm, Ancestry.com. Many genealogists have personal web pages hosted on this site, many of which can be accessed on Rootsweb directories.

Immigrant ships To New Zealand 1835 to 1910
This site by Gavin Petrie contains shipping lists and other useful information regarding immigrant shipping to New Zealand during this period. Including ships of the Waikato immigration scheme and the NZ Fencibles. Visit his homepage link for other NZ genealogical information, such as NZ Cemetery Websites.
