Countries of Origin for our Wilson AncestorsAncestors in our Wilson lines all emigrated from England, however they came from several different counties as listed here and illustrated in the accompanying diagram.

Regions of Settlement of our Wilson Ancestors in New ZealandAfter making the 3 month voyage to New Zealand by sea between 1842 and 1893, these different families settled in various regions of New Zealand such as Auckland, Christchurch, Nelson and Wellington. Eventually however, the members of these families that we are descended from, eventually settled or lived in localties in the North Island of New Zealand around the Manawatu, such as Foxton, Bulls, Rongotea and Palmerston North.THIS DIAGRAM CAN BE CLICKED ON FOR A LARGER VIEW It is likely that other relations of these migrants may have emigrated from England to other parts of the world, such as Australia, Canada, Argentina or the USA, while some would have stayed back in England. Consequently there may be branches distributed around the world. We would be interested to hear from anyone interested in any of these family lines.
