I have always had a cat throughout my life and after attending several cat shows and nagging my husband about getting a pedigree cat, he finally gave in and said we could have 2.  That was in 1999 now with a house full of wonderful cats; we are addicted to them and could not be without our extended family.

We purchased a Cream Classic Tabby British named Charlie and with his personality and affection we decided that he needed a friend.  We had decided that we would like to start breeding and after several months of investigating we finally decided on the Scottish Fold as they had several characteristics of the British Shorthair.  Catie was our first Fold girl and with the help of the Barcoo Cattery in NSW we increased our numbers they have been an intricate part in our breeding program.

I have been stewarding and taking part in shows helping and learning what happens behind the scenes with shows since I joined the cat world.  After several years I then decided I wanted to do more with my interest in the cats and I decided to apply to do a Group 2 judges training course.  I successfully passed in December 2005 and enjoyed my first official assignment as a Group 2 Judge at the

Melbourne Pet & Animal Expo at Caulfield Racecourse in February 2006.

We have 2 prefixes, “Miralea” for our Scottish Folds and “Pawzette” with my daughter for the Tonkinese.

I refer to “we” a lot as I could not participate within the cat world if it was not for my very understanding husband and 3 children we are proud members of GCCFV.

I returned to the full time work force in August 2006 after a 9 year break. My new career is as a Disability Carer Certificate IV working in a share home and one on one with a lovely young man who has an ABI (Acquired Brain Injury).  I have always wanted to help others in my life and this new career is one of the most rewarding in being able to give to others in need and also to know that you are making a difference in someone’s life.  I now run my own house within the organization and enjoy the challenges that lay ahead..

I am a founding member of the New Breeds Cat Club holding the position of Treasurer and also a Member of the Highlands Cat Club in NSW.  I enjoy showing my cats, educating the general public on responsible cat ownership and traveling interstate meeting new people and catching up with friends.
