Michael Kelly is a Licensed Real
Estate Agent and for the past 31 years has been directly employed in the
property industry transacting in all areas of property - commercial,
industrial, retail and residential at a senior level with large national
companies and State and Federal Governments. Accumulated expertise
encompasses evaluation, marketing, sales, leasing, property management and
project management in Victoria and Western Australia.
A position with the State Government of
Victoria as a senior executive, Manager Sales and Development - Metropolitan
Transit Authority (MTA) provided an excellent opportunity to learn the essential
aspects associated with transacting commercially in Government property. The
role included identifying surplus real estate assets and evaluating the
development and sale potential. Annual sales target in excess of $30m.
In February 1997, Michael commenced a
property consultancy practice and was appointed by WAGR (formerly WESTRAIL)
to provide property expertise in relation to marketing, development and sale
of Westrail’s extensive property portfolio throughout WA. WAGR are his major
client. Two recent large assignments included an accommodation study to
relocate Westrail operations from the Kalgoorlie Station Precinct to West
Kalgoorlie Marshalling Yard and project management of the Kalgoorlie Station
Land Use Study. A brief description

· Marketing
and evaluation advice in relation to Railway Spur lines in the Melbourne and
Perth metropolitan areas.
· Evaluation
of real estate potential for land and buildings associated with Railway
Offices and Station buildings.
· Evaluation
of real estate potential for land associated with major regional city
schemes where the MTA and WAGR are key land owners.
· Evaluation
of the highest and best use of rail land along the metropolitan rail
corridors where there are complex improvement issues.
· Progressive
sale of industrial railway spur lines 1 to 7 in Welshpool/Kewdale Perth.
· Accommodation
Study for relocating rail freight operations from Kalgoorlie to West
Kalgoorlie Yard.
· Managing
major sales on behalf of the Premier’s Asset Task Force in Victoria including
Melbourne Central, Melbourne CBD land and fringe CBD high density
residential sites.
· Managing
the sale of surplus railway houses throughout Western Australia.
· Established
a database for major buildings, houses and trainmens barracks spread across
Western Australia. |
