Pilots meeting currency of 400TT, 100hrs in M20, and no accidents within past 5 years may rent this aircraft in Sydney, Australia. Of course, you need a current medical, BFR, and currency on instruments (if you intend to fly instruments).

The advantage to renting this aircraft is that you will not have to convert your license to an Australian license, which has become quite expensive. Those of you revisiting this web site will notice that I have removed discussion about the ASIC requirement (Aviation Security Information Card). Please contact me directly for information about this as the situation has changed in a positive way regarding requirements for visiting pilots!

I highly recommend that you first download a sample flight planning program from Champagne Software called Flight Planner 3000 (on links page). Plan a few flights to get a feel for distances and times. The program is very easy to use and runs very reliably.

Following a brief familiarization flight, and a review of Australian regulations (emphasizing differences between the USA and Australian system) you can begin your trip with up to date charts provided as part of the rental agreement. The data base for the IFR GPS will be current.

*Check out the links page for charts, weather and MAPA. Airservices Australia has links to current IFR charts that can be downloaded for free.

The current rate for rental is: Contact me for current details.
2hr/day minimum. + all additional charges for landing fees, flight plans, etc. Australia has a user fee system and unlike the USA many items (even weather briefings) are charged for. Fees for weather are only $.50...landing fees can vary quite a bit. At Hoxton Park there are no landing fees or movement charges. Fuel is around AU$1.80/litre or ca. US$5.25/gallon I will require a deposit equal to my insurance deductable ($1,500). You may want to check with your own insurance company about additional coverage.

201CM is hangared at YHOX (Hoxton Park) and has a current annual and IFR certification. Mid November ity will be moved to Bankstown (YSBK) as Hoxton Park is closing.
