Certified Financial Planners

An individual whose job it is to specifically look at individual’s financial situation and assist them in devising ways in which they can save money and hopefully obtain financial freedom.

There are specific requirements that must be met before a person can call themselves a certified financial planner or CFP. In order to study to become a CFP a person must be at least one of the following initially,:

• Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)

• Chartered Accountant (CA)

• Professional National Accountant (PNA)

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Through financial advice, they help you take an overview of your current finances and work with you to distinguish what the best method would be to proceed to achieve your goals, whether they were to buy a house, buy a car, become debt free, save for your children's education or anything else.

Also once certified they must continue their professional development with on-going seminars and training. Furthermore, they are required by their profession to abide by the FPA Code of Ethics and Rules for Professional Conduct.

The qualification is internationally recognised.
