Northcote Community Information & Support Service Inc is a community organisation committed to resourcing and empowering the local community. We can help you find information about anything, put you in touch with local groups and activities, advocate and negotiate on your behalf, help with practical things such as filling out forms and writing letters, complete your tax return, or locate emergency aid for people in financial or personal crisis.

Founded by community-minded residents in the late 1970s as the Northcote Citizens' Advice Bureau, we are a council funded, community owned and managed organisation, providing access to information and resources in a respectful and supportive environment. Our primary purpose is to encourage participation and self-determination for all members of the community.

We are staffed almost entirely by volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, with some part time paid staff who provide overall coordination and ensure that a quality service is being provided. We constantly seek to find more and better ways to meet community needs.

Northcote CISS is accredited by Community Information Victoria (CIVic) and funded by the City of Darebin as well as the Federal Department of Family and Community Services.
