Selecting an Avatar from the Paging Dr Avatar Library

An avatar is the small image placed under your username in your profile.

If you don't know how to apply an avatar to your profile, please read these instructions first:

Go to our Photobucket page and choose an avatar.
Click in the URL Link area to copy the code.
Login to Paging Dr and click PROFILE.
Click Modify Profile:
Scroll down to:
Click in the input area next to Avatar URL:
Press CTRL-V to paste your code.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Press to save.

How to Load an External Avatar

Select an image. There are many web sites with free avatars. Here are a few:
Put the cursor on the image you want.
Click with right button of mouse
Select Save Image As. or Save Picture As.
Save the image on your hard drive and remember where you put it.
Go to http://www.imageshack.us/ and upload the image.
Click in the Embeddable Code: for Friends box. The code will be highlighted.
Press CTRL-C to copy the code.
Login to Paging Dr.
Click PROFILE.
Click Modify Profile:
Scroll down to:
Click in the input area next to Avatar URL:
Press CTRL-V to paste your code.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Counting Down the Days with a Ticker

A ticker is an image which displays the number of days to a special occasion. It adjusts itself every day. The following ticker counts the number of days till GAMSAT 2007:

To create a ticker for your signature:

Go to www.tickerfactory.com.
Follow the prompts to choose a ruler, slider, event name and date.
Copy the code in the box marked bb Code with CTL-C.
Login to Paging Dr and click PROFILE.
Click Modify Profile:
Paste the code in the Signature: box with CTL-V.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Note: This code also has [url][/url] tags wrapped around the [img][/img] tags. You only need to paste the code between the [img][/img] tags. You may delete the [url][/url] tags, if you wish.

For example, the coding for the above ticker is:

How to Load a Userbar in Your Signature

Userbars are small images (350 pixels x 19 pixels) placed in your signature. For example:

The coding for this bar is as follows:

[image]

That is, put the image URL inside the [img][/img] tags.

Then put the image tags inside the [center][/center] tags.

If you wish to find a userbar for your signature, try the following web sites:

http://ubanimator.com/ - click on userbar archive - seems to have the best collection.
http://userbars.org/ - you need to find a host for these images.

Selecting a Banner and Skin (Colour Scheme)

To change the banner / skin in your profile:

Click PROFILE.
Click Modify Profile:

Scroll down to Select Skin: and choose from:

Blue	Blue background gradient. Blue bars. Off white window background. Blue highlighting. Blue folder icons. Ranking hearts.
Grey	Dark grey (almost black) background. Grey bars. Grey highlights. White text. ??? folder icons. Cyan smileys. Ranking squares.
Purple	Purple background gradient. Purple bars. Snow white and linen white window background. Purple highlights. Blue folder icons. Purple ranking stars.
Valentine	Candy heart textured background. Brown scroll folder icons. Ranking hearts.
Citrus	Freshness of lemon, lime and orange. Nurse smileys.

Beneath the Select skin: drop down list is the Select banner: drop down list.
Select one of the banners.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
