Wikipedia's article on forum avatars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forum_avatar ScienceGeek's Animated Avatars Post by WunderBunny on Sept 10, 2006, 3:49pm
If the above instructions seem like too much trouble, you can use one of the avatars from the Paging Dr catalogue. ScienceGeek has kindly allowed us to install his animated avatars in our catalogue.
If you don't know how to apply an avatar to your profile, please read all of these instructions first:
Click on MY PROFILE.
Click on
![[image]](http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/pagingdr/Forum/modifyProfile.gif)
Scroll down the page to
![[image]](http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/pagingdr/Forum/avatarDropDown.gif)
Click twice on the avatar box to highlight it.
Use your mouse or up/down arrow keys to view each avatar. You don't have to open the drop down list to view the avatars. You may have to wait for the next avatar in the list to load.
You must delete the URL of your existing avatar:

How to Load a Userbar in Your Signature Post by WunderBunny on Sept 10, 2006, 3:57pm
Userbars are small images (350 pixels x 19 pixels) placed in your signature. For example:
![[image]](http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/pagingdr/Forum/lost3.gif)
The coding for this bar is as follows:
![[image]](http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3/pagingdr/Forum/signatureBox.gif)
That is, put the image URL inside the [ img][/img] tags.
Then put the image tags inside the [ center][/center] tags.
If you wish to find a userbar for your signature, try the following web sites: If you would like to combine multiple userbars, create an animated userbar like this:

Wikipedia's article on userbars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Userbar Counting Down the Days with a Ticker Post by WunderBunny on Dec 3, 2006, 11:55am
A ticker is an image which displays the number of days to a special occasion. It adjusts itself every day. The following ticker counts the number of days till GAMSAT 2007:
![[image]](http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10501;41/st/20070324/e/GAMSAT+2007/dt/16/k/79ba/event.png)
To create a ticker for your signature:
Go to www.tickerfactory.com. Follow the prompts to choose a ruler, slider, event name and date. Copy the code in the box marked bb Code Go to your profile. Paste the code in the Signature: box. Note: This code also has [ url][/url] tags wrapped around the [ img][/img] tags. You only need to paste the code between the [ img][/img] tags. You may delete the [ url][/url] tags, if you wish.
For example, the coding for the above ticker is:
[ center][ img]http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10501;41/st/20070324/e/GAMSAT+2007/dt/16/k/79ba/event.png[/img][/center]

If you wish to use this code, remove the space characters from [ center][ img].

Re: Modifying Your Profile (Avatars, Signatures) Post by WunderBunny on Dec 4, 2006, 5:37pm
Have you tried to right-mouse-click on the image. First, you would have to generate an image and display it in your browser. To display it in your browser, paste the part which begins with http: up to png into the address space of your browser.
