My name is Angela McMurtry and I live in Queensland Australia. My father is Ian BANKIER born Yorkshire, England.
Prior to my family settling in Yorkshire they were from Kirkintilloch in Scotland.
I started researching my Family History many many years ago (sometimes feels like 100s of years) and during that time I have collected a lot of data.

I am always after new data so please feel free to contact me. I collect ALL references to the BANKIER surname
from ANY country.
In particular I am interested in any information relating to the PLACE NAME - contrary to popular belief it is not a French or Dutch surname!
My family history relates to England, Scotland and Ireland.

Thanks to my Clan Chief' in waiting' I now have all the BANKIER DEATHS 1855 - 1953 for Scotland so please contact me if you would like a lookup.

We also have all of the available marriages in Scotland up until 1926. Births to1906. We also hold copies of all known Bankier Wills registered in Scotland ( not that many !)
Most people who have Bankier ancestry will relate to either the Kilsyth branch of the family or the Kirkintilloch branch of the family (this branch also went to Glasgow)
Of great interest to me would be to hear from other Bankiers who live in Scotland.  Also those in New Zealand 2003 & 2004 saw a boom in the numbers of those interested in finding their Bankier ancestors.
