Welcome to the Black River Rural Fire Brigade Web
Site.
Black River is situated approximately 30 km North West of
Townsville Nth Qld and is a part of Thuringowa Group, in the newly
formed Townsville District.
We do not yet have a fire station. We are, however, another step closer. As of September 2009, we have a lease on land on Church Rd Black River . Watch this space....
We are currently awaiting Commissioning of our
new 41 unit. It is now a matter of waiting for a suitable occasion
for the presentation of vehicle and keys. (looks nice too).
Many
thanks to NRMA Insurance Community Help Grants for their significant
contribution toward the purchase of this vehicle
Our next goal is to raise some $100 000.00 plus to erect our fire station - (Stage 1)

Hundreds of quality items for sale
Our brigade currently operates a light attack and a medium attack appliance. The light attack was recently replaced under the veteran replacement program at a cost to us of 12 and a half thousand dollars. Thank you to NRMA Community Grants. Our medium attack has recently undergone a makeover.
Training is currently conducted at Area Level. Brigade training will be planned in coming months in conjunction with neighbouring brigades.
Members come from Black River and surrounding districts.
The brigade currently meets on the second Wednesday of each month (7.30pm) at the Northern Beaches Ambulance Station.
