In the
Belgian forest....
Stefan Everts
Works 610 Husqvarna
First thing I noticed
was the superbly plush suspension. Unbelievable for a works bike of a world
champ. Marzocchis forks and Showa shock had incredible action, being extra
soft initially then able to take big hits very comfortably.
Rider layout was too big for me. Everything was costom made to
suit Everts. Double wall Renthals, handmade triple clamps, handcrafted
Aluminum tank, titanium pipe, etc. made the bike look pretty trick. Although
1st gear was tall for George Jobes tight training track the 4 speed tranny
was flexible with good ratio spacing..
An incredibly fast & flexible motor was matched with very powerful
brakes. Think of how good stock Honda brakes are and then double the power
and you'll get an idea of what I mean. Long wheelbase made the bike quiet
stable at speed, but it didnt want to go around corners so easily.
Despite being it's long wheelbase flicking the big Husky around wasnt
to hard, insperational, too bad about the steering.
Checkout the gravel pit I had to ride in. Too much right wrist could
get you into trouble in a hurry here.
Thats the F1 track behind me in the forest.
Special thanks to Geoff Meyer for letting me be his test rider for the
day. Thnx mate.
..and thanks to
