Lord Anton Garan (Lady Mara's uncle)
picture of Lord Anton Garan - model unknown Lord Anton Garan of Threehills was secretly a powerful sorcerer when he was alive. He left his estate to Marcus as part of his plan to swap bodies with him, but his plan failed and Anton died. As a ghost, he arranged for his niece, Lady Mara, to be kidnapped and brought to Valour Hall so he could sacrifice her to Lahmfada, a pagan god. However, Brenna's adventurers foiled his plan and Lahmfada took Anton's ghost down to the underworld in Mara's place. Using a sphere of transference, Anton possessed Mara at Marcus' public lecture on Qemor, and used magic to take her back to Valour Hall. When Brenna's adventurers arrived there, Anton was no longer a ghost. Instead, he was a vampire. Anton used magic to escape from Valour Hall when the battle started to turn against him: he hid in Thurander until summer 1397 AUC, when he travelled to the abandoned villa of Hyspastis in search of a means of returning to life. There, Brenna's adventurers killed him and all his servants except Vidar Goldbrow, who escaped.
