Place of Origin: the Clatspurs
Current Home: Greyhawk City
History: Kuori grew up with her mother's people, one of the Goliath tribes of the Clatspurs. Part-Flan and part-Goliath, Kuori didn't do as well as the full-blooded Goliaths in the competitions and challenges that dominate tribal life. However, she claims to have won admiration, respect, and the honorific "Axetaker" for taking a frost giant's greataxe.
Kuori left her tribe in her sixteenth year, and travelled down from the Clatspurs to her father's homeland, Quagfludt. While there, she was hired for a special mission to assist in the war effort, and signed on to serve in the Auszug when the mission was complete. Kuori began to follow the traditions of her father's people, and travelled the Flanaess looking for work as a mercenary and adventurer.
Kuori's adventures led her to Greyhawk City, where she formed friendships with a number of residents, particularly Calopee (an apprentice in the Cooks and Bakers Guild) and Kurt de Adheville (named "Soulsaver" by Kuori for his most valiant deed to date). Kuori lived for a year in accommodation paid for by Joram Kesserem, who employed Kuori and her friends for an urgent mission and was very pleased with the outcome. When not hired to carry out a particular task, Kuori adventured in the Cairn Hills looking for the Five Blades of Corusk. She did this on behalf of her friend, the snow elf Kez (Kehrahznara), who occasionally visited Greyhawk city on his never-ending quest to free his trapped god, Vatun.
Kuori was adopted early in 598 CY by a different Goliath tribe, the Lenamaka, and given a new honorific, "Swiftslayer". After joining her new tribe, Kuori experienced a growth spurt, gaining another 4 inches in height. Later in the year, shamans of the Lenamaka guided Kuori through rituals that brought her Goliath heritage to the fore.
Appearance: Kuori is very tall and strong, though still short for a Goliath.. Before her transformation in 598 CY, she wasn't heavily muscled for her size, and had dark brown skin with hints of grey patterns. Following the change, her build is more muscular, her skin has become grey with brown patterns, and lithoderms speckle her arms, shoulders, and torso. She has braided straight black hair that reaches her waist, and brilliant green eyes beneath her jutting eyebrow ridge.
When fighting, Kuori uses the large two-handed axe that she took from a frost giant. Before the transformation, if given the opportunity to prepare for a battle, she would cover her face and arms with grey clay, which she then marks with woad in Flan-like patterns. Following the change, the Lenamaka have encouraged Kuori not to cover her skin mottling.
Other Notes: Kuori has been scared of snakes ever since an undead snake-man used magic to territy her, then make snakes exlode out of her body. Kuori flies into a frightened rage when confronted by snakes.
