Nazari's Biography
Place of Origin: southern Tusmit
Current Home: Krestible
History: Nazari's parents, Jamal and Roshni, migrated to Perrenland
from the Sheikdom of Farhini in southern Tusmit when she was very young. They
settled in Krestible, where Jamal's skill as a weaponsmith and Roshni's talent
for designing splendid hats for the nobles attending the Krestible Cup were
both highly valued. Nazari's parents obtained citizenship through the Weisspeer
clan, and raised their daughter to honour both the Backlunish traditions of
the "Old Country" and the traditions of their new home, Perrenland.
In the months between finishing her schooling and starting compulsory military
service in the Auszug, Nazari took the opportunity to travel down the Velverdyva
River to Greyhawk City and back. Returning before her eighteenth birthday in
CY 595 to enlist for military service, just as any patriotic Perrenese youth
would do, Nazari has already made her parents proud by serving their adopted
country's cause in the war against Old Wicked and the Witch Queen.
In the years that have passed since she enlisted, Nazari has travelled widely.
She regularly visits Eastfair, where she first learned the art of Baklunish
dancing from Qadira el-Hadir, Greyhawk, where she stays at the Broken Staff
Inn whenever possible, and Hardby, where she is an honorary member of the Throne
of Wood. In her travels, Nazari has learned that she has a great destiny to
fulfil, greater even than her role in determining the rightful ruler of Tenh.
Appearance: Light complexion, golden-hued skin tone, green
eyes, wavy shoulder-length black hair. When adventuring, Nazari usually wears
her hair in a single braid under the helmet Owain made
for her in 596 CY.
Despite being quiet and diffident, Nazari's good looks and pleasant demeanour
attracted several suitors, including Beleak (whose attentions she spurned),
Lord Aldric, and Owain. Nazari and Owain are now married.
Animal Companions:
- Rahul ("traveller"), Nazari's beloved heavy warhorse, was killed by giants!
Sniff!
- Hamza ("powerful") is Nazari's second heavy warhorse. She hopes what happened
to Rahul doesn't happen to him, too!
- Ghala ("young"), the ginger cat Lord Aldric bought for Nazari in the Old
City district of Eastfair in 595 CY. He was a little-ittle kitten!! Aww!!
Other Notes: Her full name is Nazari bint-Jamal el-Daaloub
el-Krestibi (Narazi, daughter of Jamal, of the Daaloub family, of Krestible).
Nazari respects the Old Kerk, like any patriotic Perrenlander would. However,
like her parents, she follows the Baklunish gods of the "Old Country". She prays
to Al'Akbar, Azor'Alq, and Mouqol every dawn, and whenever possible she also
prays to Al'Akbar at dusk.
Deeds of Note:
- A mighty wizard appeared by magic to assign Nazari a quest - just like in
the stories from the Old Country!
- Asmara used her magic to make Nazari fly! Amazing!
- Nazari and a dreadful worg battled together until both fell, grievously
wounded by the other. Fortunately for Nazari, Owain healed her by calling
on the power of Bleredd, the god of smiths.
- Another mighty wizard appeared by magic to summon Nazari for a quest - this
time in her family home in Krestible, in front of her parents! They were so
proud!!
- While on a most important mission, and despite terrible nightmares, Nazari
found within herself the courage to overcome her fear and follow their guide
under the earth and through ancient tombs.
- While delivering a letter from Auchdritter Grug's wife to her sister, Nazari
and her travelling companions found a village hidden from prying eyes by powerful
magic!
- Deep beneath the earth, Nazari was reminded that "Soldiers don't scream!"
even when confronted by a terrible monster that bursts out of the ground in
front of you.
- After many attempts and several scorched fingers, Nazari disabled her first
magic trap! If only she also knew how to open locked doors. Fortunately, Grug
broke open the lock.
- After briefing Nazari and her companions about what lay ahead of them on
the road, the follower of the Dweller on the Horizon disappeared ... confirming
that Nazari was indeed on another quest!
- In a distant land, a secret agent of the Queen sent Nazari on a special
mission! In carrying out that mission, Nazari earned the emnity of the Slavelords,
who harrass her whenever she leaves Perrenland to escape the wrath of Iggwilv.
- Nazari helped defeat pirates and expose a renegade cult. Afterwards, the
noble Lord Aldric invited Nazari and his other travelling companions back
to his home in Schwartzenbruin to drink mineral water! Such splendour!
- Pelari rescued Lucian from enemies in the City of Greyhawk, with a little
help from Nazari and Rahul.
- Nazari struck down a man wielding a rapier, and he disappeared! She was
sure he must have been another wizard, but eventually she learned that wasn't
the case at all. Now she has yet another enemy and yet another bounty on her
head.
- During her six-week stay at the Whirling Dervish in Eastfair, Nazari studied
dancing under the tutelage of Qadira el-Hadir and danced every night for the
patrons of that fine establishment. At first, it took some encouragement to
persuade Nazari to dance, both from the women of the dancing troupe and from
her travelling companions, who promised not to tell Nazari's parents. In time,
however, Nazari came to greatly enjoy taking part in the performances.
- A recently-risen vampire took control of Nazari's mind, then told her to
kill her friends ... and Nazari resisted his command and shrugged off his
control! Such willpower!
- Aldric and Nazari told Owain about the standard-issue Auszug headbags, used
to collect the heads of your worthy fallen enemies from the field of battle.
Nazari still thinks it's a barbaric custom. Ick!
- Nazari brought Lord Aldric's dinner up to his room, and he agreed to read
a copy of the Hegira and learn more about Azor'Alq! What's more, he told Nazari
she was brave!!
- Nazari didn't realise that Beleak, Aninas and Grug had entered the Whirling
Dervish until she finished dancing. Beleak didn't stop staring at her - and
Grug threatened to tell her parents! It was so, so embarrassing.
- Owain asked for Nazari's help wooing one of the other dancers, "Fatah" (Rebecca),
as sending her flowers had not won her attention. When leaving the city on
a quest (see next entry), Nazari showed him a dress that Rebecca had admired
while window-shopping on the way to their dancing instructor's home, and Owain
bought it on the spot and paid the shopkeeper extra to deliver it to Rebecca's
home! So romantic!
- Nazari and her companions escorted a heavenly hound (Nazari named him "Feisty")
and a two-year old princess from a wicked city to an emerald portal that took
them to safety! Her greatest quest yet!
- On the journey to the portal, an invisible creature snatched the princess
and tried to carry her off! Beleak "Puppy-Slayer" almost hit the princess
with a stray arrow, but Feisty took the shot for her. Such courage! Feisty
almost died, but Aninas healed him just in time. Nazari was fast enough to
leap up and catch hold of the princess, dragging the invisible creature to
the ground with her weight so that Grug could slay it.
- Nazari met the Voormann and shook his hand!! Such an honour for one so
young and inexperienced.
- The Voormann sent Nazari and her companions on a quest into the sacred Castle
Dian, where they did great and noble deeds that must remain forever secret.
Afterwards, the Voormann said he was very pleased with her!! If only she could
tell her parents why, they would be so proud!
- Nazari started having prophetic dreams! She's not sure exactly what they
were about, but she's sure they must have been important.
- The Temple of the Waves at Dekspoint had a huge salt-water pool, and everyone
went swimming with High Priest Iluyanesta, a green-skinned sea elf. Pelari
used magic to change into a sea elf, and then into a mermaid! She had a tail!
- Nazari and her companions went to "deal with" a wicked lord who had offended
his wicked liege, and helped him fake his own death. He cut off his own ring
finger so that they could take back his signet ring and "prove" that he was
dead, and killed one of his own bodyguards to provide enough blood at the
scene! It was so horrible.
- Nazari helped Grug and Peregrine solve a murder and end a heatwave in Hardby,
though Nazari did little to help - instead, she spent most of her time being
injured, terrified, trapped, and generally feeling useless. At the end of
her ordeal, Nazari was granted honorary membership of the Order of the Throne
of Wood by Didatrix Cassandra Havelos.
- Nazari and Owain helped Grug shop for plants and Kondkan pots at Rikkendal
so that he could take a potted plant back to Krestible as a gift for his wife.
In the end, Grug bought some of the herbs that are used to make the spicy
and very tasty Brockenbergers, but couldn't persuade anyone to teach him the
secret recipe. Instead, he bought two dozen frozen meat patties to take home.
Mmmm.
- A spirit possessed Owain, and then Grug! It turned out to be a friendly
spirit, and granted Owain's wish to know more of the art of weapon-smithing!
Now it whispers the ancient secrets of metal-working in his mind.
- While travelling in the Yatil Mountains, Owain threw a snowball at Nazari!
He missed, starting a three-way snowball fight with Nazari and Grug, and Nazari
was the clear winner. Hah!
- Nazari caught the bride's bouquet during the wedding festivities at Rikkendal!
Such fortune!
- Owain returned to Krestible with Nazari and Grug, where he starting working
with Nazari's father, Jamal, sharing the ancient secrets of metal-working
with him. Now her father talks about how Owain's the sort of man he'd like
to take over his smithy when he retires, while her mother talks about how
Owain's such a good young man and encourages Nazari to show him around Krestible
and take him to restaurants for dinner. Owain has also moved in as a boarder.
Eek!!!
- Nazari had more prophetic dreams! This time, they were about healing the
lands of the Tenhas. Owain had dreams too, so they set out from Krestible
together and travelled to Tenh.
- Griffon riders transported Nazari and her companions into the mountains!
The griffons were so pretty, but didn't seem very tame - one of them snapped
at Nazari when she tried to pat it. Hmph!
- There was a magical trap, and Nazari disarmed it! She's getting better at
doing this without hurting herself.
- Owain was buried beneath falling rubble, and Nazari had to dig him out!
She was so worried for him.
- Nazari held the Land's Heart and called for the worthy to "come forward
and see if they are the one!" She was so nervous she was trembling, but Owain
helped steady her by resting his hand on her shoulder. So thoughtful!
- Roland told Nazari that the Phostwood glows in the dark - and he was right!
Such wonder!
- Nazari helped the local Grove relocate four rust monsters from a mine for
the church of Zilchus. Pelari told Beleak that rust monsters sometimes swallow
gems, which pass through them and are left behind in their droppings, and
Beleak searched all the droppings in the mine! Such a stench! He didn't find
anything of value, and nobody responded to his call for assistance.
- A powerful wizard sent Nazari, her companions, and the inn they were staying
at to another world to meet a god! Nazari didn't like this quest - it was
terrifying and horrid. While in the other world, Nazari almost died at least
three times and was deafened by the roar of a dreadful creature. She spent
most of the time traumatised and in shock, despite Mule's encouragements and
Pelari's reassurances.
- Nazari got to look in a magic mirror and see herself look absolutely gorgeous
- more beautiful than perfection itself! A pity she was too shaken to appreciate
such an opportunity.
- After returning to Oerth, Nazari was trying to recuperate in Crockport when
villains stole a holy scabbard from the temple of Heironeous. She and her
companions recovered the scabbard, but not before Nazari was almost killed
by a pillar of flame. She was riding Rahul at the time, and poor Rahul was
burned as well! Such cruelty! Still, Istus smiled upon Rahul, as he was the
only mount to survive the pursuit of the robbers.
- Nazari recovered from the trauma of going to the other world while spending
time at the Broken Staff Inn in Greyhawk City. While there, she and the other
guests from Perrenland interfered with the plans of a dark cult, destroying
the monster who was preying on the neighbourhood.
- Another recently-risen vampire took control of Nazari's mind, and this
time she couldn't resist his insidious commands, first to protect him, then
to kill the rudest of the other guests. Once the vampire was defeated, Nazari
was so apologetic. She made up for her lack of resolve during the battle afterwards,
when her previous vampire-hunting experience helped them destroy the vampire
in its lair, before it could recover and escape.
- After returning to Krestible from Greyhawk City, Owain gave Nazari a cuckoo
clock as a gift! In return, she gave him a book on the ancient art of metalworking
and weaponsmithing that she had bought from a bookstore near the Broken Staff
Inn. Such serendipity!
- Owain took Nazari to Khundholm to meet his foster family and to go on the
pilgrimage and see Moradin's Forge! Such an awe-inspiring location! On the
journey there, Owain introduced Nazari to Balin, the nephew (once removed)
of Thraim, the master smith Owain was apprenticed to among the Khund.
- Owain and Nazari helped Balin drive off a derro invasion of the holy site!
During the battle, Nazari switched off a potentially devastating magic bomb.
She didn't expect it would be so easy!
- Noble Balin fell in battle defending the High King himself, and Balin's
body was burned up as Moradin brought his soul to the Hall of the All-Father,
there to feast and drink for all eternity!! It was so sad, but grand at the
same time. Owain was very quiet afterwards, and didn't return to Krestible
with Nazari afterwards.
- Nazari met up with Owain and Lord Aldric on the road a day out of Greyhawk
City! Serendipity! Nazari was so pleased to see them both that she greeted
them with hugs. Beleak was with them as well, and Nazari waved at him in greeting.
- Beleak joined Nazari in morning and evening prayers to Al'Akbar! He seems
to be trying to be a better man, but isn't doing a very good job of it despite
Owain's lectures. Beleak's new magic sword, a not-very-good longsword that
he can't wield properly, also lectures him on being brave and noble.
- Lord Aldric gave Nazari a potted plant! He called it an Ulaa Fly Trap. If
only Nazari had brought the translated copy of the Hegira with her from Krestible,
she could have given Lord Aldric the gift she promised him. An opportunity
missed!
- Deep beneath Greyhawk City, an undead sorcerer teleported Nazari against
her will into grave danger! Both Lord Aldric and Owain rushed to save her
- but Nazari saved herself before they arrived! Huzzah!
- Nazari made a fortune! Her parents are so proud! She's told them both that
they need never work again, but neither has stopped working. Instead, they're
continuing to live as if nothing has happened.
- Nazari travelled into another world, and fought with the forces of good
against the forces of evil! Now, she has a destiny!! So exciting!! If only
she knew what it was.
- While she was away, Owain delivered the translated copy of the Hegira to
Lord Aldric at Schwartzenbruin. Such a gentleman!
- Nazari accompanied Lord Aldric to the Bright Lands on a quest! He asked
her to go with him!
- Kyria met Kerkesh at Karistyne Castle, and they seemed to be going so well
until he ignored her at lunch and hurt her feelings. Then he tries to apologise
to her hours later, as if that makes everything alright again. Men!
- Lord Aldric told Nazari about how his parents were both holy warriors of
Hieroneous who were killed fighting evil when he was very young. It's so sad!
Sniff!!
- After completing the quest, Kyria invited Nazari to accompany her on a visit
of the famous warmage academy at Tarth Moorda in the Abbor-Alz Hills. Such
courtesy!
- Nazari and Owain met unexpectedly in Greyhawk City! Serendipity!
- Nazari and her friends stayed in the Artisan's Quarters at the Broken Staff
Inn, where Nazari was hailed as a great hero for helping save the district
from an evil vampire lord. Everyone was so proud of her!
- Owain took Nazari walking arm-in-arm in the garders around the New City
Fountain - at night! She made sure they stayed on the reasonably well-lit
paths, away from the couples having clandestine meetings. Phew!
- Owain and Nazari returned to Krestible together, and he forged her a new
scimitar of cold iron. So thoughtful!
- Nazari visited her friends at Eastfair, including her dancing teacher Qadira
el-Hadir, and met Qadira's prize student, Terrelle. Terrelle taught Nazari
the secret of the ancient Baklunish art of combining dancing and scimitar-fighting!
- Nazari returned to to Perrenland, where frightening dreams and ill omens
were ever-present. Even in such dark times, however, there were still signs
of hope - Grug's wife Mayl gave birth to a beautiful, healthy girl, and they
named her Lara. How sweet!
- Nazari, Owain, and Grug travelled to Schwartzenbruin to visit Lord Aldric.
While in the city, Nazari bought a pot of honey and went to visit Castle Dian,
though she couldn't tell anyone where she was going or why. On her return,
she looked radiant!! Not as beautiful as when she saw herself in the magic
mirror, but more beautiful than at any other time in her life.
- Nazari found a poison dart trap, but didn't do a good job of disarming it.
Oww!! She felt so embarrassed at her failure. Fortunately, Lord Aldric and
Trom were there to treat her wounds and save her life.
- Nazari danced for Owain and Lord Aldric, who were both impressed by how
much she had improved in recent months. Her radiant beauty perhaps played
a small part in their enjoyment of her performance.
- Summoned by a powerful noble in response to a vision in a dream, Nazari
and her friends were sent on a grand quest to rescue a princess! They were
teleported several times by different wizards, confirming how important a
quest it was!!
- Nazari and the others had to travel naked through a magic portal - eek!!!
All four men promised not to peek, but it was still very embarrassing.
- In a distant place, they succeeded in their quest and rescued the princess.
However, there were now six people in their group, and only five could pass
through the magic portal. Lord Aldric stayed behind, even though there was
no way for him to ever return. Such bravery!! Such courage!!
- When Grug asked Lord Aldric if there was any message he wanted to send,
he replied, "I only have one message to send," and kissed Nazari!! Her first
kiss!! Events happened so quickly, she didn't even have a chance to say goodbye
- and now she'll never see him again. Sniff!!
- Nazari returned to Krestible with Owain and Grug. Weeks later, Owain was
invited by the Shool to take part in a special mission, but Nazari wasn't.
Not that she wanted to, anyway. Sulk.
- Owain returned safely a fortnight later, and told Nazari how he was personally
responsible for shattering the spell that kept the southern part of Lake Quag
frozen over. A deed worthy of praise!
- Owain built a toy for Ghala! So kind!
- Owain kissed Nazari! Several times!! And gave her a beautiful helmet, adorned
with her greatest deeds! So romantic!! Now her mother insists that she carry
her pledging ring at all times, and her father keeps saying that Owain is
a good, hardworking man.
- Owain proposed to Nazari!!! He offered her a ring, in the Baklunish way
- such consideration!!In return, she gave him her pledging ring, in the Perrenese
way. Her parents are so happy!!
- Nazari, Owain and Grug were recalled by the same powerful noble for another
mission. Nazari's mother asked Grug to chaperone them throughout the journey
and the mission, even though Nazari has never needed a chaperone before. Humph!
- Lord Aldric is alive! A miracle!! Nazari didn't know how to tell him about
her engagement, but Owain talked to him privately and explained what had happened.
Phew!
- Lord Aldric wasn't angry with Nazari. Instead, he asked her to give him
a token he could wear as her favour, and she gave him one of her favourite
scarves, made of a gauzy pinkish-purple material. Now he wears it constantly,
no matter where or when. Truly a most noble knight!
- Nazari met Lenwe the unicorn!! He ate apples, and carrots, and a cube of
sugar, all from Nazari's hand! Lady Cinna is blessed to have such a companion
- so beautiful, and noble, and valiant!
- Lady Cinna almost died - and when she tried to save her, Nazari almost died
as well! Only the favour of Lord Aldric's god, Hieroneous, kept Nazari alive
for long enough for the others to take her to a temple for healing. Truly,
she must have a great destiny still to fulfil.
- Nazari and her companions were employed to escort an archaeologist on a
very important mission. It wasn't a quest, however: though they were to be
teleported to their destination by a mighty wizard, the wizard in question
didn't take them to the right place, and had to leave them to walk the rest
of the way themselves. Humph!
- Nazari met a living dragon! He was terrible to behold, a frightening creature
of immense power. It was fortunate she wasn't of sufficient interest to attract
the dragon's attentions.
- Nazari helped Grug deal with some horse thieves. She has never seem him
as angry as he was with that woman!
- Nazari met Perrenland's ambassador to Greyhawk City. The ambassador's personal
assistant, Jenna, is also engaged to be married! May she be as blessed by
the gods as Nazari hopes to be.
- Owain gave Nazari a necklace of shells, made by nixies in their underwater
home. Such a beautiful gift!! He is so thoughtful!!
- While exploring in the Cairn Hills, Nazari was greatly disturbed by mysterious
sounds and ghostly presences ... but when faced with evil, she fought bravely,
and didn't squeal once!
- Nazari and her friends found a cursed treasure hoard in the Cairn Hills,
but Owain removed the curse through the power of Bleredd! Truly he is favoured
by his god!
- Called to active service by the Auszug and dispatched to serve at Riberlund
once again, Nazari served bravely in the campaign to drive out the Witch Queen's
servants from the ancient Ur-Flan necropolis beneath the city. While there,
a vampire tried to take control of Nazari's mind, and again she resisted!
This time, she knew it wasn't her friend straight away, before it could try
and get her to do anything. Such resolve!
- Owain almost died in the temple of Nerull! In fact, it looked like he did
die, but when Nazari took him into her arms he revived immediately. She was
so upset when she thought Owain was dead, and so relieved when he wasn't.
Was it the power of their love that brought him back?
- Nazari's parents have invited Qadi Eccan Al-Nahr'eysh of Krestible and
Qadi Nadim bin-Haidar of Farhini to conduct the marriage ceremony! Nazari
and Owain will be married once Qadi Nadim bin-Haidar finishes his business
in Tusmit and arrives!
- Nazari and Owain travelled to Zeif through the tunnels of Khundholm, northern
Tusmit, and Ekbir. Her first visit to the "Old Country"! If only they could
have travelled through southern Tusmit, where her parents lived before the
move to Krestible.
Beleak sucked on the fingers of a dead man. Eww!! So disgusting.
- Nazari and Owain played boardgames with a gifted player in the marketplace
at Nafiq, and after losing fourteen games Nazari finally won the fifteeneth.
Such a challenge! When she won, her opponent said she had played well! Such
an honour to be praised by one so skilled!
- Rahul was killed by giants in the Cairn Hills! Sniff! After killing the
giants, Nazari and her friends stopped to cremate Rahul and honour his bravery
in battle.
- Beleak stole from a dying man, and when he was caught claimed that he was
doing it to help him! Such effrontery! Truly, Beleak deserved the curse inflicted
on him for his crime!
- Nazari found herself in a strange place where nothing was as it seems -
Skole wouldn't believe her warnings, and what happened to him was his own
fault! Honest!
- Nazari's companions all disappeared, and were replaced by monsters! She
fought bravely until the monsters overpowered her, knocking her out and taking
her prisoner. It turns out the monsters were her companions after all, and
Nazari had been hitting Tace! How embarrassing.
- Nazari, Kyria and Sofia went shopping for jewellery - and the shopkeeper
punched Nazari in the face! Such effrontery!
- Nazari and her friends travelled on board a pirate ship! The crew teased
Nazari and called her "feisty", but nobody tried anything because she was
carrying so many scimitars.
- Nazari persuaded Xuiavin to bathe - he had never seen soap before! The bath
house was not what she had expected, however - there were so many talking
monkeys! If only Nazari had known their language, she could have asked them
to leave her alone while she bathed.
- Nazari attended the celebrations in Khundholm for the second anniversary
of the coronation of High King Barandon. Huzzah!
Nazari introduced Kyria to Owain at last. Kyria still thinks Nazari should
have waited for Lord Aldric, but it was three months! How was she to know
Aldric was still alive?
- Kyria showed off her new courtier's outfit at Karistyne Castle - take that,
Kerkesh Nan! And don't think we believe your claims that you have a vow of
chastity, either!
- Nazari met Lord Robilar! He seemed so confident and powerful, she forgot
to ask him why he freed Old Wicked from beneath Castle Greyhawk. He's also
Baklunish, and has been treated poorly because of his heritage - just like
Nazari! She's not sure they have that much in common, however.
- Lord Aldric has been reading the Hegira! So thoughtful!
- Owain nibbled Nazari's fingers when she fed him finger food. Giggle!
- Geven tried to give Kyria a "shiny" ring! She was so offended! Such rudeness!
- Aldric met someone he recognised from the ancient past at the Spotted Cow
Inn in Hardby! Bashir also travelled back in time, and is possessed by an
ancient spirit! It's creepy how he slaps himself to stop the spirit talking
through him.
- Beleak has a "shiny" ring that he got from a "friend"! Such an untrustworthy
man - why does Lord Aldric insist that he deserves so many second chances?
- Aesha fed everyone in the group, including Fluffy, her dire wolf, with little
berries! They tasted so sweet and were so filling - amazing!
- Apparantly a terrible monster with many tentacles tried to kill everyone
while Nazari couldn't see - which was probably for the best, really. The others
made it sound so frightening when they described it - such a horror!
- Beleak claims he's been having a prophetic dream - and it came true! Usually
it's Nazari whose dreams are full of portends and omens - why was Beleak chosen
this time? Humph!
- Owain has found a magical belt that he claims makes him more dwarf-like
- but as far as Nazari can tell all it seems to do is make him less handsome
but able to see in the dark. Maybe if Nazari bought him a different belt,
he'd still be happy?
- A horrible monster made Owain go crazy - he talked about worms singing
at the moon, and asked Nazari to saw off his legs so that he'd be safe! She
refused (of course!) and thankfully he recovered his senses when the monster
was struck down. She was so worried!
- Beleak decided he wasn't doing anything useful against a common foe, so
he went on ahead to start looting the treasure chamber! What cheek! What affrontery!
No matter what Lord Aldric says, a tiger cannot change its stripes!
- Nazari watched Rooney Werner perform at the Boarhound in the Duchy of Ulek!
Her travelling companions were very impressed that she'd met the famous singer
and he'd taken her out to dinner.
- Wolfgang turned into a little grasshopper-man! He was so cute! He was less
cute later, when a poison had sapped his strength and he had to strip down
to his breeches to be able to walk unaided.
- Agents of the Slave Lords found Nazari and attacked her! When she made it
back to Castle Karistyne, the others wanted to go out and hunt them down -
but Nazari had already defeated them! She can look after herself, you know!
- Nazari had to swim underwater - but Owain's magic stopped her from drowning!
It was such a strange experience, particularly coughing up the water from
her lungs when she returned to the surface. So unsettling!
- Beleak claimed that porpoises aren't fish! His lies and deceits are never-ending!
He also claimed that Grug's pronunciation was wrong - but everyone knows it's
pronounced "paw-poiz".
- Agents of Rary took Owain's hammer! Rary sent it back to Owain at Krestible,
but put a trap on it that caused a small explosion, and almost killed Nazari's
mother!! The monster!!
- Nazari helped her friend Mahlia from the Broken Staff Inn investigate the
murder of her fiancee. So sad!
- Sofia told Nazari she wasn't a real Weisspeer! Nazari knew Sofia was just
like that other Roodberg paladin, she just knew it! Britney stood up for Nazari,
just like a fellow Weisspeer should. Weiss!
- A Rhennee fortuneteller told Nazari that she saw Qadi Nadim bin-Haidar
of Farhini being captured by bandits on the road to Krestible, and adventurers
trying to rescue him. If this vision comes true, Nazari's wedding may be ruined!
- Beleak swore an oath to Boonbane that he would wield him in the next battle
he fought - and he did! He didn't seem to do very well, however.
- Powerful magic made Nazari go crazy for a little while - and everyone took
what she said so seriously! Even after Nazari recovered her senses and stopped
attacking her friends, it took a long time for Grug to stop holding her down
and to let her stand up.
- Owain died!!! Noooo!!! Her darling Owain!!!
- Beleak covered the cost of Helena Stanmaer raising Owain from the dead
- such generosity!
- Lenwe promised to remain Nazari's friend forever, even when she's married!
Such kindness!
- Orc bandits attacked Nazari and her companions while they travelled - and
after they killed almost all the warriors, Grug told the survivors that he
was now the chief of the tribe! He's not sure what he's going to do with them
next, as without the warriors the others are an easy target for other orc
tribes.
- A magic trap on a trap door made Nazari fly up to the roof! She landed
on her feet, like an upside-down cat! Whee!
- Owain used magic to reform a beautiful crystaline crown so that Nazari could
wear it at their wedding!! What a wondrous gift!!
- Lady Cinna let Nazari ride Lenwe - a marvellous experience! Such a privilege!
- The great wizard Mule promised to teleport Nazari's friends from Eastfair
and Greyhawk across the Flanaess to attend her wedding! Such power and generosity!
Now her dancing friends can attend! Now she has to tell her parents about
dancing ...
- Nazari's parents are happy with her dancing "in the traditional way"! Huzzah!
- Grug and Mayl went and visited Grug's mother's tribe in the mountains, and
the chief of the tribe has agreed to let Grug's tribe join them. Grug is going
to ask the great wizard Mule to teleport his tribe - copycat!
- Nazari and Owain got married! The Star of Al'Akbar was clear in the sky
at midnight, confirming that the marriage is very blessed by the Restorer
of Righteousness!
- Beleak gave Nazari's parents a fortune as his gift to attend the celebration
- a gift worthy of a princess' wedding!
- Nazari and her husband, Owain, attended the court of Duke Labahlah
of Tenh - just as a Lady and Lord of Tenh should.
- Creatures of fire attacked - and Owain compelled them to obey him through
the power of the Smith-God, Bleredd! Such authority!
- Lord Aldric vomits blood every morning! He has been cursed by an evil power
because he refuses to choose sides in a pointless squabble within the Old
Kerk. Truly, he is a noble man of principle!
- A terrible purple worm emerged from the river and attacked children - and
Owain sent his horse forward as a lure for the worm! Doesn't he understand
how close the bond is between horse and rider? It is as if he is mistreating
a cousin!
- Nazari and her companions had to cross a lake to reach an island - and
Owain gave them all the ability to walk on water! Such power his god grants
him!
- Nazari found a shard of ice in her magic backpack - the horror!! Such terrible
memories!! Worse, nothing Owain does makes the ice melt!!
- While visiting Greyhawk, Nazari and Owain bumped into Kyria, Kazibar and
Sofia at the Sage's bookstore near the Broken Staff Inn. Kyria is engaged
to be married, and has been made a Knight of Sterich and a Lady of Mittleburg!!
Such good news!! Kazibar and Sofia are knights and lords as well, but they
aren't engaged.
- Owain parted the waters of a swamp with the power of Bleredd! Truly, no
water can withstand his might!
- Kyria sent Nazari a letter inviting her to Mittleberg to see her house
and meet her husband. Her house is indeed grand - and she has such plans to
make it grander still!
- Nazari and her friends were send on a grand quest - they had to teleport
to their destination! What's more, they rescued an elven princess and a noble
rebel from the clutches of death and depravity! How glorious!
- Gildor Arcanix finally invited Nazari to carry out a mission for him -
and not her husband, Owain. She asked Gildor why he never asks them both to
help at the same time, but his answer made so sense! What did he mean by,
"There's only so much one can do"? Such a cryptic response!
- Nazari met Livelliadon the Librarian. He has a tattooed face, but is neither
crazy nor evil - how unusual!
- Kyria was killed by a terrible trap that left her a dessicated husk! After
she was returned to life, she talked about her time in Phyton's "heaven" -
but it can't truly be heaven, because it had no minarets! Why doesn't Kyria
understand?
- Sofia met Grug! She talked about how her instructors used him as an example
of a noble warrior who could be recruited to their cause. However, he refuses
to serve any god other than Corellon Larethian, "because he beat Gruumsh".
- Sofia doesn't like the followers of "the Blinding One", Pholtus, any more
than Nazari does! They have something in common - how disturbing!
- Nazari's magic hat made a small dragon look like a pony with a beautiful
bridle on its head. Such a clever deception - no-one saw through it before
Nazari revealed the truth!
- Nazari battled an evil princess who sought to flee through the corridors
and rooms of her uncle's hall - but she couldn't get away from Nazari! The
evil princess almost killed Aldric when he came to Nazari's aid - indeed,
at first it seemed there was no way he could have survived! Praise Al'Akbar
for turning the woman's blade aside!
- Kyria's grand home is finished! She showed it off to Nazari before they
left on a great quest with Owain, Aldric, Sofia and Rakkel.
- Lord Aldric captured a riding lizard from a drow warrior! He now rides on
the ceiling whenever they approach their enemies, and says it's "not too bad"
riding upside-down all the time. Such a talented rider!
- Nazari and her companions travelled through a portal to an amazing city
named Sigil, built on the inside of a massive ring - you can see the other
half of the city through the clouds! Amazing! Garagoth the minotaur was their
guide through the city he called "the centre of the universe".
- Nazari met a man named Gryfalcon who travels between worlds without casting
spells!! He offered to train Nazari so that she could disappear and appear
with but a thought!!
- Sofia is so rude! She copied Nazari's hand gestures as she talked! Worse,
she told Aldric that, if she died, she wanted Owain to take her armour and
remake it into something better. How rude not to ask Owain herself!
- Nazari leapt from the top of a tower to the ground, striking down a drow
priestess with one blow as she landed! Such technique!
- Aldric thought at first that it was acceptable to enslave demons, but Nazari
convinced him that slavery is always wrong! Such a humble man to acknowledge
that he learned something from her! Sofia would never admit to such a thing.
- Nazari couldn't bring herself to attack a darkly handsome demon - until
he hit her with his greatsword! Wounding someone is not charming, even if
you are gorgeous!!
- Lolth's magic made it impossible for Nazari to tell friend from foe, and
she cut down Aldric! Thank the gods Owain had not fallen victim to Lolth's
deceits, and saved Aldric's life with magic!
- Sofia challenged Yeenoghu to single combat, and cut him down with two mighty
blows! He didn't even scratch her armour that she has so little respect for!
- Owain returned from the Yatils with a golden hammer he won from a fire
giant in a smithing contest! He says the script on the hammer reads "The Greatest
Smith of the Yatils" in the giant's language, and has set it above the door
to the family's smithy. Surely all the city has come to see and admire his
trophy - as does everyone who travels through Krestible along the Krestingtrek!
- Owain has been awarded the title, "Weaponsmith By Appointment to the Voormann"!!
Such an honour!! Truly, he is without peer in all of Perrenland!!

Favourite Adventures:
- Fear of the Heart - the DM did a great job adding detail and roleplaying
opportunities to the scenario as written, making it feel like a war movie.
- Black Blood - there were pirates, arhh, scurvy sea-dogs to be sure. There
were also sensible guards, and villains who talked back when we talked to
them.
- A Tiger? In Ahlissa?/Running with the Baatezu double-feature
- the DM provided plenty of opportunity for character interaction and development,
put a lot of effort into describing Eastfair and the various people who live
there, and didn't try to hurry us through the scenarios.
- It Never Rains in Nyrond - another scenario where the DM gave us
plenty of time for character interaction, plus I got a lot of character continuity
from playing part four of the series immediately after parts two and three.
- I Dream of Janni - a lot of fun character interation and development
all round, and the characters got to appear competent thanks to reasonable
skill-based challenges.
- Desecrators of the Lords Tomb - the first time Lord Aldric, Beleak,
and Owain all adventured together with Nazari. Lots of interaction and relationship-building
fun for all!
- Retribution - more interaction fun in Greyhawk City, plus the DM
did good work improvising when the characters went to a location that's detailed
in a different scenario.
- Times Time on Bright Sands - the Aldric/Nazari/Owain romantic triangle
started to reach a climax, plus the scenario itself contributed some enjoyable
story elements.
- Riders of the Grave - the DM was very cooperative when it came
to the players introducing story elements for our group that he didn't know
anything about. He also chose to run the scenario in a way that suited the
group's play style, which was appreciated and worked very well. All in all,
a great gaming experience.
- Murder in Elmshire - a good murder mystery, plus the DM responded
well when the characters went off on tangents and found shortcuts through
the scenario.
- Fields of Ruin - playing an APL 8 adventure with an APL 10 party
let the characters seem competent and capable in dangerous situations, which
is rare when playing Living Greyhawk.
- Divided We Stand - lots of characterisation and in-character dialogue,
plus we split the party and Nazari held her own against one of the Big Bads.
