Description The Year 600 draws to a close. Almost two years have passed since the death of Old Wicked: years in which Perrenland has begun to recover from the stresses of war, famine, gloom and heresy. The leadership of Perren, the First Voormann, has placed a key part in this recovery, and his popularity remains staggeringly high among the general populace. However, mutterings of discontent are starting to grow louder

• Perren has refused to rescind the sentence of exile or outlawry on the heretics. It is still a crime to oppose the inclusion of Kyuss in the Old Kerk or to preach to the populace about the Great Lie, "whatever that may be".
• Perren continues to talk about reuniting the position of the Hetvoorshoolmann of the Old Kerk with the office of Voormann once the current Hetvoorshoolmann retires, despite the objections of some in the Old Kerk.
• Perren consistently favours the Roodbergs and the Guurhok hobgoblins in their disputes with the Kershane elves and the Vossers, even when the merit of the case seems to lie with the latter.
• Perren initially refused to issue the call for nominations for the election of the new Voormann in the summer of 599, claiming that he still had 5 years of his original term of office to run, and is said to have taken much convincing by his advisors on the Council of Grafs before eventually issuing the call almost one year late. To date, Perren is the only candidate in the election: no-one else has nominated as an alternate candidate.
