The Silver Mask was my second Living Greyhawk character. He is an almost-seven foot tall masked half-orc wrestler (luchador in his orcish dialect), part of a noble and ancient tradition of champions (tecnicos) of the poor and oppressed who opposes villains (rudos) wherever they encounter them. He always wears his silver mask, which covers all of his head except for two eye-holes, and refuses to take it off at any time. The Silver Mask is certain that if he isn't wearing his mask, he will lose his amazing wrestling prowess. Also, if he reveals his face villains will know who he is and strike at his loved ones.
You can see I wasn't taking this very seriously: the Silver Mask is a humorous character, and doesn't have much personality or complexity to work with. I'm also increasingly of the opinion that a grappling character is a relatively weak choice for Living Greyhawk: it seems to me that most grappling feats make you better at escaping grapples, not starting them. That, combined with the inherent D&D bias towards equipment use and the Living Greyhawk bias towards high-risk combat, makes a wrestling monk seem not particularly viable for long-term play. That's why I've only played the Silver Mask in two adventures..
Still, it was fun wrestling a dire bat into submission faster than the other four characters defeated the other dire bat ...
