Prerequisite: Spellcasting.
Benefit: You can create a magic item that stores a spell that
you know. The item's user can use the spell a set number of times before the
magic is exhausted. Charged items are usually spell-trigger items, which can
be used only by someone who has the Spellcasting feat and could learn the stored
spell (they do not need to know the spell).
The purchase DC of a charged item with 1 charge is the cost of the masterwork
item (minimum 10) + 7 + Magic Power + (Magic Power divided by 2 and rounded
up). Increase the purchase DC by 2 if the number of charges increases (+2 for
up to 3 charges, +4 for up to 6 charges, +6 for up to 12 charges, +8 for up
to 25 charges, +10 for up to 50 charges). Increase the purchase DC by 1 if the
item is not a spell-trigger item.
Sample masterwork item costs: wand (purchase DC 10), staff (purchase
DC 10).
