Potestas: a D&D3E supplement

Acrobatics (Dex; armour check penalty)

You are good at dives, rolls, somersaults, flips, and staying on your feet in difficult conditions.

Check: you can walk on precarious surfaces (as per the Balance skill description in the 3.5 PHB), reduce the damage you take by falling and hitting the ground, stand up from a prone position more quickly, and climb a wall by leaping up it.

Special: 5 or more ranks in Acrobatics allows you to retain your Dex bonus to Armour Class while balancing. It also gives you an additional +1 dodge bonus when fighting defensively, and an additional +2 dodge bonus when executing the total defence action. These bonuses increase by +1 and +2 respectively for every 10 additional ranks (that is, +2 and +4 at 15 ranks, +3 and +6 at 25 ranks, and so on).

Synergy: 5 or more ranks in Acrobatics gives you a +2 bonus to Athletics checks involving jumping. Conversely, 5 or more ranks in Athletics gives you a +2 bonus to Acrobatics checks. These bonuses increase by +1 for every additional 10 ranks (that is, +3 at 15 ranks, +4 at 25 ranks, and so on).

Feat: the Tumble feat allows you to use this skill to move in combat without provoking attacks of opportunity (as per the Tumble skill description in the PHB).
