Spells

Impose Shapechange

Transmutation [Shapechanging]
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close
Target: One living creature
Duration: Permanent; see text
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates, Will partial; see text
Spell Resistance: Yes
Minimum Power Points: 9

This spell functions like shapechange, except you transform the target into another type of living corporeal creature. If the new form would prove fatal to the creature the subject gets a +4 bonus on the save.
If the spell succeeds, the subject must also make a Will save. If this second save fails, the creature loses its extraordinary, supernatural, and spell-like abilities, loses its ability to cast spells (if it had the ability), and gains the creature type, shapeshifter subtype (if it didn't have it already), special abilities, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores of its new form in place of its own. It still retains its class and level (or HD), as well as all benefits derived from them (such as base attack bonus, base save bonuses, and hit points). It retains any class features (other than spellcasting) that aren't extraordinary, supernatural, or spell-like abilities.
Incorporeal or gaseous creatures are immune to being shapechanged, and a creature that already had the shapechanger subtype can revert to its natural form as a standard action.
The duration of the spell depends on how radical a change is made from the original state to its enchanted state. The duration is determined by using the following guidelines.

Changed Subject Is Duration Factor
Same kingdom (animal, vegetable, mineral) +5
Same class (mammals, fungi, metals, etc.) +2
Same size or smaller +2
Related (twig is to tree, wolf fur is to wolf, etc.) +2
Same or lower Intelligence +2

Duration Factor Duration Example
less than 1 20 minutes Pebble to human
2 or 3 1 hours Marionette to human
4 3 hours Human to marionette
5 12 hours Lizard to manticore
6 2 days Sheep to wool coat
7 or 8 1 week Shrew to manticore
9 or more Permanent Manticore to shrew

Restriction: Choose one type of living corporeal creature (animals, dragons, fey, giants, humanoids, magical beasts, monsters, vermin) when you learn this spell. This spell only allows you to impose the form of creatures of that type.
Heightened: In addition to the benefits given in for the shapechange spell, an additional 6 Power points allows you to transform the target into an object. The target can be an object of up to 125 cubic feet (a 5-ft square) per Power point expended, and only attended items receive a saving throw and spell resistance.
